VW Routan Minivan Will Come With WiFi Connectivity

There must be a special reason for you to drive a VW Routan minivan, isn’t it? So adding WiFi connectivity to a minivan like the VW Routan should come in handy. Everyone will quite down for a couple of minutes to check their Facebook profiles, chat quickly with their friends or simply play some simple online games, while you, the acting parent, can focus on the road ahead.

Volkswagen is working with Autonet Mobile to offer the uconnect in-car WiFi Internet service to Routan owners. The system will be similar to the one found in Chrysler or Cadillac cars and it will rely on a 3G mobile data modem which will get you some high-speed EVDO connectivity. You can expect download speeds from 400 to 800kbps and uploads speeds peaking at about 400kbps. The uconnect service will be priced starting at $29 per month and in case you do a lot of traveling by car then maybe you should consider getting a Routan minivan.
