VW and Toyota to Make Electric Drive Systems?

Is Volkswagen ready to enter the electric car business? Is it because the German manufacturer is thinking greener thoughts or is it because the oil will end sooner or later. I bet it’s a little bit of both, but just enough to make VW seriously consider electric drive systems. And what partner did VW manage to grab. VW officials have contacted Toshiba in order to ask for help. The two companies should work together on developing “electric drive units and the accompanying power electronics for Volkswagen’s planned New Small Family.”

Will such a partnership succeed? We a whole financial crisis ahead of us so there’s plenty of time to find out more about. And don’t expect any VW electric cars soon. They are a long way behind.
