While the “Big Three” and a number of well-known car manufacturers in the world are trying to get over this global economic downturn, it is quite surprising to note that Volkswagen recorded profitable sales in 2008.
Who would have thought that Volkswagen, quiet as far as auto and sales performance is concerned, would suddenly come out of nowhere to announce such a feat. Despite the high price that they command for their fleet of models, you have to give them credit for their improvement and in hitting their sales targets.
For the 2008, Volkswagen has sold a record 6.23 million cars, up 0.6% from the previous year.
Now those are quite some numbers for Volkswagen, who has been known to struggle in terms of car sales.
