
Last Spring, we learned that Toyota would be seeing a projected loss of $8.9 billion USD. However, public broadcaster NHK says that strong sales of its Prius and other hybrid vehicles, backed by tax incentives by the Japanese government, could actually mean that these losses at a much lower $5 billion USD.
A Toyota spokesman declined to comment on this issue. The Japanese car maker will be reporting its earnings for the April-June quarter next week.
