It’s no secret that SUV sales are hurtin’ so it’s also no surprise that Toyota would react this way, recently announcing their plants to cut SUV production.
Originally planning to produce 400,000 SUVs this year, Toyota was forced to cut that number down to 370,000 vehicles due to dropping sales in North America and Europe. On top of this, Toyota will also run their assembly line 30% slower and cut temporary workers to make up for the slow sales.
Is the SUV craze over, or will it start back up if/when gas prices go down? Only time will tell at this point.
