If your daily driver is a Toyota Camry, Corolla, Vios or Yaris and you are situated in China, definitely read on — Toyota has recently announced that they are recalling 688,314 sedans manufactured in China. Apparently, the vehicles in question shipped with a defective electronic window control system caused by excessive lubricant.

Reports suggest that this problem could potentially escalate and result in overheating of the door panel and in extreme cases, melting. You wouldn’t want that now would you?

Toyota has already secured themselves as the go-to-guys in terms of gas-electric vehicles but the price of the Prius is still out of reach for some consumers.

Well, it seems that reports are suggesting that Toyota is prepping to have a low-cost hyrid based on their Yaris out by 2011. This vehicle will apparantly go head-to-head with Honda’s Fit hybrid.

No official word has come out of Toyota but a sub-$20,000 hybrid car would definitely be a smart decision business wise.

Toyota of South Florida announces its own contribution towards eco-friendly issues today. To help address the lack of trees which are diminishing in numbers, Toyota has announced that they will be planting one tree for each car sold last April.

For the record, Toyota of South Florida sold 310 cars meaning that they will be donating 310 trees to American Forests, the world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration. Now this eco-friendly initiative should be something that environmentalists will surely praise. We are all aware that trees have been dwindling in numbers due to illegal logging and chopping and hopefully this effort translates into something better for the environmental needs today.

Cars sold in April in honor of Earth Day included the Corolla, the Camry, the Yaris, the Matrix, the Solara, and the Scion XD which are all vehicles available at Toyota of South Florida that provide more than 30 highway miles per gallon.

While the iQ commercial we’ve seen yesterday, we have the Yaris commercial today. The little Toyota will do almost anything but fly of carriers. No matter how good the driver, or how well prepared the launch is, the car will simply not fly. Toyota wants to tell us that it will probably do anything a car should so why not get one right?

Toyota has a new iQ platform which will be used in three new models.

The next-generation of Yaris will come out in 2011. Yaris will continue its competition with Honda’s Fit model. A new hybrid will also be available and it will compete against another Honda, the 2009 Insight. A seven-seat car will be the last model to sit on top of the new iQ platform

What does the iQ bring to the table? The differential is moved in the front of the engine, the steering rack is mounted higher, a better climate control and a thin fuel tank situated under the passenger’s seats.

Ok then, so let’s some Yaris sketches then!
