Jaguar has released the 2010 XF Supercharged, the fourth and latest car in their XF lineup. This latest vehicle comes powered with a 470hp version of the 5.0 liter supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III engine that debuted at this year’s Detroit Auto Show. The XF Supercharged will be available starting October 2009 with a starting price of $68,000.

This latest luxury car from Jaguar is something that promises to be worth the ride. It typifies the quality and production that Jaguar has been releasing through the years and is certainly something worth checking out.

In an effort to improve the fuel consumption and reduce emissions, BorgWarner’s Cam Torque Actuated (CTA(TM)) variable cam timing (VCT) technology has been injected into the all new Jaguar AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0-liter V8 engine.

Unlike traditional cam phasing methods which typically use engine oil pressure to phase the camshaft, BorgWarner’s CTA(TM) technology captures the existing torsional energy in the valve train to accomplish this event, similar to a hydraulic ratchet.

CTA(TM) cam phasers operate more quickly and under a wider range of engine speeds and temperatures than traditional oil pressure actuated cam phasers. These factors allow CTA(TM) variable cam timing to more efficiently improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and increase horsepower.

“BorgWarner’s CTA(TM) technology optimizes variable cam timing, making it more efficient at all engine speeds, with faster response than traditional hydraulic oil-actuated VCT systems,” said Alfred Weber, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Morse TEC. “Jaguar drivers will appreciate its quick response when they push the pedal and enjoy the added benefits of reduced emissions and improved fuel economy.”
