EV Innovations may be planning for Inizio, the electric supercar however, they are also preparing for a more toned down model to deliver for the Automotive X Prize. Referred as the Wave electric car, it is a plug-in two seat car that will be priced around the $30,000 and it also claims to handle 200 miles on a single charge.

A top speed for the Wave will be 80mph, unlike 170mph that the Inizio is expected to reach. Production of the Wave is expected to start sometime in 2010. The company still hasn’t decide on which model it will pitch for the prize.
