I don’t know if you guys have seen any of these, as there are an ungodly lot of them for just about any purpose. I’ve even seen one talking about why there would be no camera on the iPhone, and there are a lot more besides.
Anyway, this is footage from a movie called “Downfall”, which is about the last days of the Third Reich. People have been taking this movie apart to talk about just about anything from Kanye West to Scott Brown’s senate seat. Search for it on YouTube and you’ll find almost thirty three hundred videos involving this strange new meme. And in this one, Hitler will be enraged to find that Ken Block is moving to Ford.
Doubly strange over something so simple as a rally driver changing companies.
But still, the video is hilarious in its own way (you’ll never imagine Hitler drove a Subaru!) and will be plenty of fun, especially if you keep up with the rally circuit.
Just for a recap, for those of you who didn’t follow our coverage–Pastrana had been working on this jump for the last two months now. Announced back in October, Pastrana’s plan was to jump a rally car off a ramp out onto a barge floating in the middle of a harbor.
The video will prove to be spectacular, and the jump itself even more so. Pastrana quite thoroughly shattered the old record, with an unofficial total of two hundred seventy four feet. The previous record was one hundred seventy one feet, so clearly, destroyed.
He then celebrated by doing a backflip off the ramp into the harbor himself. One way or another he knew he was going into that water, I guess.

New footage has emerged, ladies and gentlemen, of Travis Pastrana’s upcoming New Year’s Eve rally jump, and I’ll tell you this much, it is AMAZING.
You may remember earlier when we brought you footage of the setup process for the jump, but now we have actual footage of the jump being practiced.
The setup details were downright exhaustive, including things like path grading and ramp construction, as well as several initial practices. Today, however, you’ll get to see Pastrana attempt to land on a wood and metal ramp from his jump off another ramp.
From the looks of things, the jump proves to be a success, and you’ll get to follow the whole thing from the front bumper’s point of view as Pastrana’s car goes sailing off a ramp. It’s frankly a thrilling video, and so we have it below for you to enjoy.

Pastrana, you see, isn’t merely content to break a world record. His plan is to HUMILIATE it by staging a jump fully TWICE the current record’s length, and then follow that by landing the jump on a floating barge out in the Pacific.
The preparation that goes into this is amazing–they’ve got heavy construction equipment out there grading the road, and all sorts of practice jumps are being taken first. But here’s the real kicker, folks–you’ll get to watch Pastrana do the real jump New Year’s Eve on ESPN HD, after the Chick-Fil-A Bowl game.

Travis Pastrana is most famously known for his work on a dirtbike but if you didn’t know he is also a very well respected rally car racer. However, this New Year’s eve he is looking to take his stunts to an all new level. Just what kind of level you ask?
Well, he’s going to attempt to jump a rally car onto a barge in the harbor of Long Beach, California around 11pm and will air on ESPN. If Pastrana is successful in his attempt, Red Bull says it will surpass the previous record of 171 feet.
So, be sure to tune into ESPN this New Year’s Eve at 11PM Eastern to see Travis Pastrana attempt an amazing feat.
