It’s hard to think of the Formula 3 racer as being good for the environment. Squealing tires, high octane fuel, and a whole host of nonrecycled materials going into its construction aren’t exactly bell-ringers for ecological awareness. But with the advent of the newly sustainable Formula 3 racer, ecological responsibility just might be job one.
The car’s body is built from a combination of–get this!–woven flax, carrot pulp, recycled carbon fibre and recycled resin. It’s fuelled by biodiesel made from chocolate and animal fats. The engine lubricant? Plant oils.
But before you start thinking this rig is all hat and no cattle, check this out:
it has a top speed of 135 mph and can go 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds.
Plus, it’s turbo charged. For more torque.
If you’ve been looking for a green game-changer in the NASCAR circuit, you might well have one right here on the Formula circuit.
