Thanks to the efforts of Caruso Affiliated, 25 rare classic convertibles owned and/or used by celebrities from Hollywood history or have appeared in major motion pictures will be displayed on May31 at The Americana at Brand in downtown Glendale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a one day event only.
“We’re excited to co-host the Concours d’Elegance event with the Petersen Automotive Museum at The Americana at Brand for the second year,” says Jennifer Gordon, senior vice president of public relations and special events for Caruso Affiliated. “Car enthusiasts, families and shoppers will be able to get a rare look at classic cars that have been owned by famous stars and others they may recognize from the big screen.”
Among the highlighted cars expected to gain much attention include:
- 1949 DELAHAYE Type 178 Drophead Coupe. formerly owned by the legendary Elton John and regarded as one of the most sophisticated European automobiles of the immediate post-war era.
- 1956 Jaguar XKSS, formerly owned by Steve McQueen
- 1965 Imperial Convertible formerly owned by Katherine Hepburn
- 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Convertible, formerly owned by Jack Nicholson and used in the movie, “The Two Jakes”
- 1951 Mercury Kustom from David Lee Roth’s “California Girls” video
- “Speed Racer” Mach 5 prototype
Now that is quite a batch to watch out for and people can catch a glimpse of them at the Petersen Automotive Museum.
