Audi has recently come forward to give us a look at what we could expect to pay for their A4, A5 and Q5 models when they hit the market.

It seesm that the starting point for the A5 will be $36,000 for the 2.0T Quattro Coupe model. Of course, Audi offers a bunch of premiums that will see the price rocket past $44,000. We don’t have an exact number but apparantly the A4 2.0T will be priced similiar albeit a bit higher than the 2009 model. As for the Q5, you are looking at a starting point of $37,350.

Now, all we need is a price for the 2010 Audi S4 and we’ll be set.

Audi has recently announced that to celebrate their 100th anniversary (eat that STI) they will be offering a variety of ‘100 Years of Audi’ packages for their vehicles purchased in Germany.

The first package, appropriately dubbed ‘Styling’, will add sports seats, a 3-spoke leather sports steering wheel, and an aluminum entry seal plate featuring the silhouette of Audi’s Type C racing car. You’ll get all of this for €2,400 to €6,750 depending on the vehicle its applied to.

Next up is the ‘Innovation’ package which will add LED daytime running lights, xenon headlights, head beam assist, aluminum wheels and some other fancy technology. This package will cost you €1,700 to €2,700 again, depending on the vehicle.

Both of these packages will be available for the A3, A3 Cabriolet, A4, A5 Coupe, A6, Q5, Q7 and TT.

What, you didn’t think BMW, Porsche, and Rangerover (just to name a few) would be the only ones with extremely powerful SUVs, did you? Good because Audi has recently introduced the above Q5 custom concept and boy does it pack a punch.

If this Q5 were ever to be produced it would house a retuned 3.0liter V6 engine, taken from the S4 pumping out 402 horsepower and 400Nm of torque. This power makes for a 1-60mph time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.

Of course Audi will throw in some 21 inch, pink rimmed wheels, sports seats, steel-plated pedals and decaled mats but it’s whats under the hood that counts, right?

I don’t know about you guys (and gals) but I’ve always been a big fan of the luxury SUVs. Porsche Cayennes, Rangerovers, BMW X5s, you name it. I love them all.

Well, Audi’s Q5 is no different and expected to hit the market next week and, in leui of that, Audi has released the pricing for the different trims.

The Q5 will come standard with a 3.2L V6 and all-wheel-drive.

I must say, compared to the vehicles I listed above the Q5 is priced pretty competitvely:

Q5 Premium: $37,200
Standard with Hill Descent Control, 18-inch wheels, Sirius Satellite Radio, aluminum roof rails, leather seats, three-zone climate control and LED taillights.

Q5 Premium Plus: $41,500
Adds six-disc CD changer, iPod adapter, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, heated front seats, auto-dimming and power-folding exterior mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, power tailgate and panoramic sunroof.

Q5 Prestige: $48,200
Adds Bang & Olufsen sound system, 19-inch wheels, Audi’s MMI system, advanced keyless system.

The video clip above is one of the funniest commercials I’ve seen in quite a while. Especially for a car. The message about the new Audi Q5 is crystal clear. Everyone wants to drive one. Even a cartoon character living in a box of carton. But with this economy that’s still in the toilet purchasing a car might not be a priority right now. Especially a big SUV no matter who makes it. Should we look for scooters instead?

According to company spokesman Wolfgang Hatz, Audi will offer a hybrid version of its Q5 crossover in the United States beginning in late 2010. Hatz explained that due to current market conditions, it is essential that Audi show the American consumer that it can produce effective and affordable hybrid vehicles, but that Audi sees the real potential for fuel efficiency in diesel models. “If you look at what you have to spend to get the advantage of the hybrid and what you have to spend on other technologies like diesel, the diesel is much more cost-effective,” Hatz said.

The gasoline version of the Q5, which is already available in Europe, will hit the U.S. market in March of 2009. The Q5 is Audi’s competitive product for the consumer drawn to the BMW X3, the Mercedes Benz GLK, and the Volvo XC 60. The MSRP on the gasoline model Audi Q5 has not yet been announced.
