Used Auto Dealer Benefits from Aggressive Internet Marketing

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Internet marketing and SEO practices have been known to be the best way to market your business online and one testimony to that respect is that of the strategy being employed by Santa Fe Ford. One factor that can be trace to this is the fact that more people are turning to the web to find used cars and this seems to be the secret weapon of Greg Waitcus, Vice President, Santa Fe Ford.

As you are well aware, most car companies today are desperately hanging on to dear life, much brought about the recession. While the “Cash for Clunkers” deal is being seen as a catalyst to change all that, used cars may yet offer something better as far as trade-in value is concerned.

And should that be the case, it would not be surprising in some cases where some cars may be bought at higher prices compared to the trade-in value that was set by the government when it comes to the CARS rebate program.

Polk Announces Solution for Cash for Clunkers Program Vehicle Eligibility

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Various groups have been aiming to educate consumers on whether they are eligible for the much publicized “Cash for Clunkers” program but now Polk offers a new solution that can possibly get right down to which vehicles are actually eligible, saving people the trouble of being turned down and wasting their time.

Polk’s new custom solution is a predictive model created by taking into account a vehicle’s age, category, current market value and EPA combined fuel economy. It enables focused targeting of consumers most likely to qualify for the Cash for Clunkers program.

“Polk has followed the Cash for Clunkers concept since it was introduced and has created a robust resource to help our customers target qualifying households that may benefit from this government program. Ultimately, it’s about selling new vehicles,” said Lonnie Miller, director of industry analysis at Polk. “We forecast that the U.S. will see roughly 200,000 additional sales this year due to the Cash for Clunkers program.”

Tesla Motors Secures Loan Approval from US Department of Energy

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

In a bid to help contribute towards the turn for more electric and cost-efficient vehicles, Tesla Motors was granted a $465 million low interest loan which they will use in the production of affordable fuel-efficient electric vehicles.

One vehicle that is expected to benefit from this development is the Tesla Model S. The Model S is all-electric family sedan that carries seven people and travels up to 300 miles per charge. The Model S has an anticipated base price of $49,900 after a $7,500 US federal tax credit. Tesla is aiming to start production by late 2011 at a state-of-the-art plant that will be employing about 1,000 workers.

“Tesla will use the ATVM loan precisely the way that Congress intended — as the capital needed to build sustainable transport,” said Tesla CEO and Product Architect Elon Musk. “We are honored that the US government selected Tesla to be among the first companies to participate in this progressive program.”

Lamborghini Goes With Alcoa Auto Wheels

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

The Murcielago LP 670-4 will be equipped with lightweight wheels from Alcoa Auto Wheels. This was made official as Lamborghini has selected Alcoa which can help in reducing the 220 pound mass reduction of the vehicle. The forged aluminum wheels reduce un-sprung weight and contribute to the SV’s 100kg (220 lb.) mass reduction over the standard Murciélago.

“The new Murciélago SV is the product of a substantial cross-car weight reduction program and forged wheels are vital to meeting this goal,” explains David Yates, marketing manager for Alcoa Auto Wheels – Europe. “The engineering behind Alcoa’s forged aluminum wheels enables a 20 percent weight savings over a comparable cast aluminium wheel, benefiting handling and ride.”

The exclusive five twin-spoke design results in a superior metal structure that improves strength and durability, offering the opportunity to create very strong and lightweight wheels. The 18”x8.5” front wheel weighs just 19.6 lb. The 18”x13” rear wheel weighs just 27.2 lb. Lowering the unsprung mass at each corner results in more responsive steering, braking and suspension input all while optimizing performance and efficiency for drivers of the SuperVeloce.

Alcoa has been at the forefront of developing, producing and supplying forged aluminum wheels to the global automotive industry for 60 years. The Murciélago SV project signals the latest Lamborghini and Alcoa collaboration since the super exotic Reventón program.
