It’s getting put through its paces on the Jerez test track, and as a result, we get just over three and a half minutes of sweet Porsche action as that monster goes flying around the curves and over the straightaways of this track.

There’s a LOT to notice in this video–it’s not just cars whipping around a track at ludicrous speeds.  For instance, you’ll be treated to the sight of a spoiler that’s wider than the car itself, and the most outlandish orange and black paintjob you may well have ever seen on a car.

Bizarre aesthetics aside, there’s lots of reason to enjoy this video, though.  It’s quite clear that the Porsche 996 GT Turbo is a high performance machine that does exactly what it sets out to do–burn its way around the track like no tomorrow.

That pretty much sums up a whole lot of how I feel about this next video I’ve got in, and let’s face it, taking a lot of time to talk about it is almost counterproductive, isn’t it?  It’s a Porsche, for crying out loud.  Most everybody already knows that Porsche is synonymous with quality, reliability, and sheer balls-out expensiveness.

And that’s why I’m glad to be bringing you this next video here, and give you a look at the new 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo.  Most of us will never get behind the wheel of one of these legendary machines, so it’s great that we can at least watch it go speeding around the track like a crazy monkey.

But as it turns out, there are plenty of new features to be had on the 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo, like added horsepower and torque. Thus, you’ll definitely want to take a look at this video, just to see what fresh and exciting things Porsche has brought to the table for 2011.

What you see above is reportedly a picture of a next generation Porsche 911 filling up on some gas. The picture was provided by Auto Express and gives us some pretty subtle hints as to what the new car will feature.

According to our source, the new car is currently codenamed the 998 and will hit dealerships sometime in 2011. There’s some camoflauge on the car but what we can make out are some LED lights and restyled side mirrors. Now, we can’t tell what is under the camofalgue but I think it’s safe to say that the front bumper is also getting redesigned.

Unfortunately, we haven’t got any word further than that so we’ll just have to wait and see how this one unfolds.

While Ferrari and the likes are hard at working developing hybrid sport cars, Porsche has yet to say anything in regards to the matter. However, reports have surfaced today that Porsche CEO Michael Macht has said that the automaker will not be producing any such thing.

Why? Well, his reasoning is that they aren’t driven in the city therefore giving Porsche no need to produce a hybrid. And, while it is possible, he says, it is not part of the plan.

Well, Porsche, with the rising gas prices perhaps you should think about incorporating it into your plan, no?

Considering that this car costs ninety five thousand pounds sterling, or roughly two hundred grand in United States dollars, it had better be a minor miracle of modern motoring, and indeed, that is exactly the case.

Not that you’d ever catch me shopping for one of these monsters, but if you must have incredible road handling, performance and speed then this might be exactly what you need.

First off, it’s a 4.8 liter V8 engine, so you know the power’s there, but what really struck me about this car was the fact that it’s a FOUR DOOR PORSCHE.  Now, that’s not something I’d heard of before, and asking around, no one I’d talked to had ever heard of such an animal either.  Why would anyone want a four door Porsche?  Doesn’t that defy some of the basic purposes?

First, way to manage disappointment there, Derek–it may well be the most horrifying sign of the times that DeAngelis, the video’s host, pretty much tells you that nothing good is coming, but what little actually DOES emerge will be ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY WICKED COOL AWESOME EEARGH!  It’s too bad that nothing he talks about is really that cool, and how most everything he talks about is either up-priced or down-scaled in some way.  Price hikes for Porsche and Mazda, the engine stepped down in the Audi, and so on, all reflect a “you get less” feeling.

Second, yeah, I like that new Mazda hatch with the big smiley face up front, but I can’t imagine paying twenty five grand for it.

Third, talking about tiny Audi engines is kind of scary.

Lastly, Derek DeAngelis should not be allowed to sing again.  Enjoy the video, folks.
