The internet is at it again and this time they have uncovered several patent drawings for a forthcoming three-seater Smart vehicle.
As you can see, the driver’s seat is to be situated int he middle of the car with room for 2 passengers in the back. The engine is reportedly set to be stationed in the back of the car with room for luggage in the front.
Further reports say this car will hit the streets sometime before 2014.

If you thought the answer to the above question was an obvious no you were very wrong, and it’s been proven. Recently found via a patent search was a hybrid propulsion system filed by none other than supercar manufacturer Ferrari.
The patent apparantly shows 4 different systems that could potentially find their way into a Ferrari hybrid at some point in the near future. According to AutoblogGreen the patent also details the car’s potential ability to run solely on electricity under certain circumstances along with the driver being able to switch from AWD to RWD.
A Ferrari branded hybrid sportscar? Count me it but the chance of me being able to afford it any time soon is close to zero.

Who says Mercedes Benz is ignorant when it comes to developing eco-friendly cars? Well if the Mercedes Benz F-Cell Roadster is any indication, this is perhaps their ticket towards alternative cars using eco-friendly modes of transportation. The concept car is the F-Cell Roadster, an emissions-free vehicle whose body is patterned after the brand’s 1886 Benz Patent Motor Car.
It was created as a “training project,” meaning the company essentially used junior-level employees to create the concept. Nice to see that while some automakers are sweating things out, at least one has plenty of time to goof off with style.

How would you feel about automating you car settings via one simple card? Well such a technology is here and it is called the Car Setting Card. Rather than make the necessary adjustments for comfortable driving, this card can automatically do it all for you. The card however is still in the testing stages and open to negotiations (to whomever would want to patent and buy this new technology).
The card sets automatically items such as seats, steering wheel, mirrors, windows, air conditioner, etc. Even drivers with no card may adjust the items according to his or her preferences, however the electronic automotive system emulate and store the settings as adjusted by the driver in memories of the data card.
This technology addresses mainly the troubling to access a car and set its several adjustments.
