The type of lubricants used by trucks and machinery may play a vital role in determining their fuel efficiency and carbon footprints. While we have our share of old hand lubricants in the market, here is a new one that aims to add some eco-friendly finesse and savings for people who really want to be economical and green.
The new lubricant is the Boron CLS Bond. This new technology was developed at Argonne National Laboratory on behalf of the U.S. Dept. of Energy. This non-toxic, biodegradeable product reduces energy consumption, reduces GHG emissions, saves fuels, increase the life of equipment. The product is more advanced than any other type of similar lubricant. This product has been subjected to rigorous user field tests and extensive laboratory testing for several years.
The benefits of Boron CLS Bond include:
- Up to 80% reduction of friction and metal wear
- Up to 16%(most vehicles)to30%+ (other applications) increase in fuel economy
- 50%-100% reduced maintenance intervals: increased equipment uptime
- Reduction of GHG emissions and capture of carbon credits
- Reduced wear and longer useful life (one treatment lasts 100,000 + miles)

When it comes to lubrication, customers or lubrication engineers cannot see the quality of grease and lubricants they are applying, mainly due to the steel containers where visual is most likely zero. But today, a new era has developed and this comes in the form of clear grease guns launched to the global market.
Now, applying lubricants to various parts of your vehicle has been made safer and secure since you can now see what is being applied. Gone are the potential threats that include contamination errors which may prove costly if not attended to nor identified immediately.
Clear Grease Tubes fit many existing grease gun models & are available to help modernize existing equipment. Converting existing grease guns is simple & cost effective for customers. However, L.E.’s Clear Grease Tubes will be available to purchase with a quality pistol grip and a lever style grease gun.

We have seen a lot of alternative fuels being experimented on and apparently this one takes the cake. Can you imagine a car running on chocolate? That car must have some kinda sweet tooth to run swiftly on chocolate-based biodiesel!
This story from TG Daily says researchers at the University of Warwick in the UK have now built a Formula 3 racing car capable of taking corners at 125 mph… running on biodiesel made from chocolate:
The car meets all Formula 3 racing standards except for its biodiesel engine, which is configured to run on fuel derived from waste chocolate and vegetable oil. Formula 3 cars currently cannot use biodiesel. The team hopes to enter it in some sort of race soon, though, said [project manager James] Meredith.
Components made from plants form the mainstay of the car’s make up, including a race specification steering wheel derived from carrots and other root vegetables, a flax fibre and soybean oil foam racing seat, a woven flax fibre bib and plant oil-based lubricants.
The biodiesel engine is configured to run on fuel derived from waste chocolate and vegetable oil. It also incorporates a radiator coated in a ground-breaking emission destroying catalyst.

One thing that most car owners would overlook is the rich history that most companies and their products have. And for Mobil 1, a known car oil brand that has been around for some time now, the best way is to be informed of the different steps and of course the technology that this popular oil brand carries.
Titled “Speed Dreams,” the 24-minute program will premiere March 16 at 10 p.m. EDT/PDT on The Documentary Channel. In addition to visiting revered locations such as the Corvette Hall of Fame and delving into the history of synthetic motor oils, the program highlights several successful drivers as they discuss the factors that have helped propel them to the top of their circuits.
The documentary also features Bill Maxwell, Distinguished Engineering Advisor, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, a prominent member of the team that invented Mobil 1 more than 35 years ago. Maxwell discusses the origins of synthetic motor oil and traces its roots back to the U.S. military’s need for lubricants that would not freeze in the extreme temperatures experienced by its naval aircraft during World War II. Maxwell also discusses his lifelong love affair with Corvettes, and how it inspired him to become an engineer and eventually play a key role in the development of Mobil 1. One of Maxwell’s own dreams even comes true on-camera as he is given the honor of turning the ignition on a just-completed Corvette at the factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

ExxonMobil has always been associated with NASCAR as an endorser and supporter. In fact, you may even call them practically a couple. And that image will continue to stay as ExxonMobil has announced the renewal of a long-standing official partnership with NASCAR for its Mobil 1 motor oil and Mobil brand of lubricant products.
“Partnering with NASCAR gives us an excellent platform to fully demonstrate our products,” said Alan Kelly, president, ExxonMobil Lubricants & Petroleum Specialties Company. “This agreement with NASCAR showcases the engine protection and performance that Mobil 1 delivers for both NASCAR drivers on the track and race fans traveling to the track. Everyone at ExxonMobil is looking forward to another exciting NASCAR season in which Mobil 1 plays such a prominent role.”

Are you wary of your vehicle’s carbon emission? Maybe you can check out these new eco-friendly oil products unveiled by Enoc which claims that they can lower your car’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Emirates National Oil Company has unveiled two new eco-friendly products, Protec Green engine oil for petrol engines and the Vulcan Green oil for diesel engines which will be made available at all Enoc and Eppco service stations in Dubai.
Can these products really make a difference? Too bad they are only available in Dubai. Perhaps once they have proven to be effective, we can see a global distribution of these lubricants in the market.
We will just have to wait and see.
