The Bugatti Veyron is arguably the most exotic car in the world — and one of the most expensive ones. However, the LEGO version you see above only consists only of a pound of plastic bricks, and lots of time and skill from LEGO enthusiasts.

Hyundai Interior Hot Swap Concept by Dave Owsen

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

This is a trendy new concept from a newly graduated student. The student is Dave Owsen who practically turned the car into a LEGO type of an object with his interchangeable interior components. While it may be easier said than done, who knows if a car as compact and easy to manipulate would be out in the market soon?

Technically we are doing this type of practice for our cars. We change the seats, have moon roofs installed and so on. But these modifications are done with harder means of attaining that modified design, even taking days to complete due to the fabrication needed. Under Owen’s concept, you can practically do it as often as you want. Now only if it were that simple!

Lego 1960 VW Beetle

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

I don’t know about you but I still love the VW Beetle. And I am not talking about the super new version. I mean the old thing. It’s a great car which will get you places.

But how about making it out of Lego? The kit is composed of 1,626 parts and it costs $120. It’s certainly a fun thing to build. It has no engine whatsoever and it will get you some 0 mpg. The Lego model is 16 inches long and 6.5 inches tall. I’d love to mount an electric engine on it and get a remote to control it. Would that be doable? Or if that’s not possible then I’d like to see a full size Beetle built out of Lego bricks.
