General Motors may be in a bind right now but if you ask motorists, there is still a demand for this vehicle. GM vehicles are still in demand according to user data from Swapalease.com, the world’s largest auto lease marketplace. The company released its list of top vehicle searches for the month of April and reports that despite the automaker’s recent struggles, many of their models are still in high demand in the lease takeover marketplace.

German models also dominate the top vehicle search list in April after a strong showing for the entire first quarter of 2009. BMW takes the lead with five of the top ten most searched models on the list for April, while Mercedes-Benz and Porsche also have a strong showing.

“This increase in demand means that many people are still looking to lease GM vehicles,” says Scot Hall, EVP of Operations for Swapalease.com. “We provide a website with a terrific selection of leased GM vehicles, many with low payments and large incentives.”

For about $100, consumers can list their in-process lease on Swapalease.com for thousands of interested buyers to see nationwide. Consumers can browse the online inventory for free and get into a new car with no money down and low payments.

People get fascinated with the show of brute strength hence when it comes to pitting human muscles to vehicle muscles, you just have to be impressed at how it is all going to turn out. Of course, it will show just how some people are as far as bodily strength is concerned and apparently that is what America’s strongest men aim to prove.

Four of America’s strongest men are meeting at the opening of America’s largest auto show to compete in a variety of contests that test pure strength and stamina. American Strongman competitors Gerard “the White Rhino” Benderoth, Ben Lambousis, Skeet Dunn, and Brett Somerville will demonstrate mind blowing strength exhibitions including a foot race while pulling a line of 10 cars!

Two rows of ten (10) brand new cars will be linked together and strapped to the athletes’ backs. When the whistle blows, the athletes will race to pull the vehicles to the finish line using only their own body strength and sheer determination.

Also on tap is the “American Strongman Challenge(r)” which pits the athletes against each other to see who can deadlift a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 the most times in one minute.

Iran Khodro, officially unveiled its Soren ELX Sedan which boasts of a home-made engine. Iran-Khodro is Iran’s largest auto manufacturing company. The car is expected to be widely produced in June.

The car was unveiled in Iran-Khodro Engineering and Parts Design Manufacturing Company (SAPCO) with the presence of Iran’s Interior Minister Sadeq Mahsouli, Senegalese ambassador to Iran and managers of auto manufacturing companies.

The car will be produced either with a turbo-charged national engine that works with 150 horsepower, a TUS engine with 110 horsepower or xu7 engine with 100 horsepower.

In a move to ease the burden of overstocking their car inventory, AutoNation has cut back on its new vehicle orders by 60 percent. AutoNation, one of the largest auto dealerships, is bracing for a tough year ahead although they have made some forecasts depending on the turn of the economy.

Mike Jackson, CEO of AutoNation Inc., predicted that automakers will sell 11 million new cars and trucks in the United States this year — but only if credit loosens. In the first quarter, Jackson said, he expects an annual sales rate equal to 10 million units.

As early as now, this is a good strategy. With a worsening economy, adjustments should be made by as early as possible. That is the best thing that most auto companies can do at the moment to weather the storm brought about by this economic crisis that started as early as the third quarter of 2008.
