2010 Mitsubishi EVO MR Touring In Action!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Remember how yesterday we brought you footage of the ice-skating Evos?  Well, today, we’re kicking things up just a little with a bit of hands-on video footage for the 2010 Mitsubishi EVO MR Touring car.

You might be questioning the wisdom, especially these days, of buying a forty four thousand dollar car when you can get a pretty sweet ride for HALF that easily, and if you start looking used you can do a quarter of that with no trouble.  And especially since you’re not buying something like a Lincoln or a Cadillac or a Mercedes or the like.  You’re buying a MITSUBISHI.

Admittedly, it’s pretty well laid out and gives a lot of nifty options, but from the sounds of things the seating is downright unpleasant.  The girl driving this car is pretty tiny, frankly, so if you happen to be a big guy you’re likely to get seriously numb on this ride if some chick who couldn’t weigh over a hundred and forty pounds soaking wet isn’t comfortable, most big guys won’t be either.

But you can get the full skinny on this car below, and see if you’re willing to shell out forty four large on this one.

Mitsubishi puts Evo on hold

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

I really felt this announcement, seeing as Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evolution is my favorite car and all. Anyways, Mitsubishi has recently announced that there will be no 2009 model of their Lancer Evolution, mostly due to the fact that no changes were planned for the model.

This doesn’t mean there won’t be any Evo’s for sale until the 2010 model rolls out as Mitsubishi assures us there is enough stock left over in the mean time.

Damn you failing economy, damn you!

Mitsubishi to debut Lancer Sportback

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Mitsubishi has recently announced that they are getting ready to debut a hatchback version of their Lancer, probably to compete with Subaru’s Outback, in the US.

Having been on sale for some time now internationally, the US Lancer Sportback will come in two different versions.

First up is the car you will see mom’s taking their kids to soccer practice in, the Sportback GTS. Featuring a 2.4-liter 168hp 4-cylinder engine complete with either 5-speed manual, or automatic transmission.

Second up is for the established business man who wants some power but wants to keep it low key. The Sportback Ralliart features a 2.0-liter 237hp turbo charged 4-cylinder engine, AWD standard, and a six-speed, twin-clutch transmission.

There’s no word on pricing yet, but chances are they will be priced around their sedan counterparts, around $20,000 for the GTS, and around $25,000 for the Ralliart.

Mitsubishi “On Your Mark” Campaign

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Mitsubishi Motors is ready to celebrate the pan-European launch of their new Lancer Sportback and their New Colt in a very unique way. Instead of waiting for people to actually come check the cars out, Mitsubishi will send them out to see the people by spectacular means.

Mitsubishi’s “On Your Mark Contest” will invite Europeans to make real Mitsubishi marks to enter the contest and win grand prizes. All you have to do is upload a photo or a video of your Mitsubishi mark to http://www.onyourmark.eu and place the location of the mark on an interactive map. 38 new Mitsubishi in more than 19 countries will be given as prizes. All you have to do is wait for a jury of 3 professionals to choose the best entries.

The “On Your Mark” campaign honors an outrageous Japanese game show. Koichi Koga welcomes you as the star of the show. You are in the driver seat of two over-the-top games: Colt Curling and Lancer Loop.

Good luck to all participants then. Send us some of your stuff if you do win a new car.
