Do you feel the need to go online when you’re in your car? Hopefully you’re not driving at the same time. Mercedes Benz has a concept car called myCOMMAND which uses high-speed wireless Internet with upload and download speeds of over 3Mbps. You will have access to phone info, digital media and the web. Mercedes has a graphical user interface coupled with a Mercedes command controller to help you get online.

The LA Auto Show is where you will see this concept car. Just go to Mercedes Benz and test it out. The whole system is a few years away from production so hold on to your horses. You won’t see it out on the streets soon.

Mazda is the winner of the Design Challenge with the KAAN concept car in the picture here. Together with Mazda with can take a look into a version of the future. We have new roads paved with sub-level electro-conductive polymer which power with the electronic tires. We get speeds of up to 250 mph and we have 30 KAAN’s traveling together in specific formations to beat the wind.

Why are we looking at the future? Because this year’s theme was motorsports in 2025. This Mazda toy-like design is a cool concept. Too bad it would need special roads to work. What do you think?

The 2010 Ford Mustang was one of the most expected cars at this year’s Auto Show. For the last couple of months we’ve seen Ford’s teaser photos so we knew where this car was headed. The exterior, the interior and more. But now that the car is finally official we’re done looking at pictures. Here’s a short but comprehensive video review of the 2010 Mustang. What do you think? The Auto Show in LA is filled with great cars. One of them is the new Lotus Evora. The Evora has two extra cylinders for extra power. Besides the power under the hood, there’s a full-featured Apline system waiting for you inside.

The Evora is bigger than its sisters, the Elise and Exige and it has a 2+2 seating arrangement. Under the hood a 3.5L V6 Toyota engine reigns. It will get you 276 hp at 6,400 rpm and 252 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm. The top speed might be somewhere around 160 mph although the number might change when the top speed tests are completed. We know it needs 5 seconds to get from 0 to 60 and that it will get you more than 30 mpg on the highway.

GPS, iPod playback and Bluetooth cell phone support is brought to you by that Alpine infotainment system. We only need a price now for this Lotus Evora.

The Maserati Quattroporte in the picture here is the 2009 version which you will be able to enjoy at the 2008 LA Auto Show. The sedan is impressive and it will remind you of the 2008 GranTurismo. The S version has a great 4.7L V8 engine under the hood compared to the 4.2L in the standard model. Besides the look we have the smarts too. There’s an audio system from Bose and an infotainment package composed of navigation, cell phone and stereo. What do you need more?

In case you are looking for a good-looking hybrid car then the 2008 LA Auto Show is the place to be and the Honda stand is the place to go to. Make sure you check out the Honda FC Sport while you’re there.

Yes, it’s a hybrid and yes, it’s so good looking I would get one in a flash. The FC Sport is a three-seat car which packs the same V-Flow fuel cell stack and the same electric drivetrain the Honda FCX Clarity has.

Unfortunately we won’t see it soon and maybe we won’t see it at all!

Another day at the LA Auto Show and a brand new car. A brand new coupe model release! I’m talking about the phenomenal Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4! Although it has been initially released in Geneva this year, this is its US launch.

It’s a coupe with a 5.2L V10 engine that will get you from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds. It has a lighter transmission than its predecessor and an increased shift time by 40%. It’s also a greener car, its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions having dropped by 18%.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said:

The LP 560-4 is the best example of the Gallardo to date and will be a great contribution to Lamborghini’s future success. The entirely new LP 560-4 Spyder adds another dimension to the Gallardo’s lineage with extreme design language and class-leading performance.

Curious on that price tag? You’ll need to wait a couple of days for that, but if you stay tuned, you’ll be the first to hear after we’ve heard first. If you know what I mean!

With the LA Auto Show almost ready to start the 2010 Ford Mustang is maybe one of the most expected new releases. And it was released with a Live audience. Ford has rented a hangar at the Santa Monica airport and they have invited Mustang club members for the official unveiling of the 2010 Mustang introduction.

Before the actual unveiling, those that attended the show got a brief Mustang history lesson. From 1964 to 2009 seeing those lined up Mustangs must have been quite fun. Then the 2010 Ford Mustang arrived. We do need to see more details. Arrival dates and pricing could also come in handy. We’ll be expecting the LA Auto Show to reveal a whole lot more details about the new Mustang.

One hot car you should be looking for at this year’s LA Auto Show is the 2009 Porsche Cayman. What’s so hot about this Cayman you ask? Well the new optional dual-clutch transmission for one. The 2.9L boxer will get you 265 hp while the 3.4L flat six will get you 320 hp. The new transmission really pays off in terms of gas consumption. The 2.9L will be able to roll 25.8 mpg and the 3.4L will get you some 25 mpg. So now you want to drive one right? Question is, would really want to drive a Porsche in these harsh economic times?

If you are waiting in line for a 2010 Mercury Milan well then go check it out at the next LA Auto Show. The car might look like a 2010 Ford Fusion because, well, they are similar.

The 2010 Milan will get you a new 2.5L four-cylinder which will come up with 175 hp. The 3.0L V6 will get you 65 hp more for a total of 240 hp. The 3.5L V6 will only be available with the Ford Fusion Sport, so go check out the new 2010 Fusion while you’re in LA. Maybe that’s the car you want.

Dr. Friederich Eichiner,a board member of BMW, has unveiled the Mini E live at a press event in Beverly Hills, California. You will be able to see it for yourself at the LA Auto Show which is going to start in a couple of days.

Only 500 units electric Minis will be sold in Southern California and in New York City starting January. The Mini E has an electric drive and battery packs made by California’s AC Propulsion. You will get a range of about 125 to 150 miles out of those 35 kWh packs and you as for acceleration you will get from 0 to 60 in about 8.5 seconds.

How do you get one? Well you will have to register for one on the custom made site that’s going to be released in the next few days and then hope to be one of the chosen one. The lease is just $850 per month after that.

It is the Nissan 370Z. And it was ‘unleashed’ into the world this week before the LA Auto Show to a small group of chosen ones. It is an upgraded version of the 370Z. It’s pretty spacious, which you can’t always expect your tiny coupe to be. The 370Z has a 3.7 liter V6 engine and it also has a differential power switch! Which we don’t know what it does

The 2009 Nissan 370Z has been seen out there in the wild. And the good news is that we, the viewers get to watch that car in its full beauty. The images were posted on the forums over at Motive Mag and the car looks exactly like Nissan showed everyone in the press shots. Come to think of it, the 370Z’s photos leaked out oddly near a Nissan office in Europe. Almost like Nissan would have wanted it… Conspiracy? We’re going to see more of the 2009 Nissan 370Z in LA soon.

When GM woke up this morning the financial crisis wasn’t over. That’s how it decided to cancel the appearance of the Cadillac CTS Coupe and the Buick LaCrosse at the next LA Auto Show in November. That’s how GM figured out it will decrease production costs for the time being.

The two cars will be delayed. The Buick is arriving in January in Detroit while the Cadillac doesn’t have a specific date. Too bad we aren’t going to see either one of the new versions soon. Hopefully things are going to change sooner than later, or we’ll end up all buying scooters and bikes!
