I’ll be the first to admit that the world is not as safe a place as we’d like it to be.  Between thieves, rapists, murderers, and just plain old crazies, going to your car isn’t nearly the safe and sedate exercise it once was.

I’m really starting to think that the folks out at Wholesale Keychain are either brilliant or insane because they’ve put things on their keychains that I’ve never really even imagined before.

So we’ve got another nifty keychain to discuss today from the folks out at Wholesale Keychain, who sent us another great one, the laser pointer keychain.

This is actually a shockingly powerful laser pointer.  First off, it takes three LR44 batteries to charge it.  I was screwing around with it the other night and shot it into a neighbor’s cornfield.  I could see the beam reflect off the side of his tractor barn at a range of, roughly, about a sixth of a mile.  This is not exactly what you’d call normal, or natural–most laser pointers I know don’t throw anywhere NEAR this far.  And it’s pretty bright, to boot–you could pretty easily use this to find your car door lock in the dark.

It’s not every day we think about key chains.  Sure, they’re a necessary part of every car trip, and they do a whole lot more than we think (who here hasn’t made the key chain claw in a bad neighborhood?) but there are key chains out there that do plenty more than just hold keys.

Today, it is no longer advisable to leave your spare car key at the usual visors or under the rug. With the advanced anti-theft security systems that your car normally comes with, it is doubly hard to get into your car and forget you ever lost the master car key somewhere.

So now, it may be best to keep a spare key in your bag or your wallet. You don’t have to include a keychain if you are wary about the bulk problems it may cause. The thing is, you have to be prepared for anything, especially if you are careless when it comes to your belongings.
