Maserati seems ready to launch some cars which will bring on some real cash. What’s the matter, didn’t anyone tell them it was a disastrous financial year? Well maybe that is true for the average consumer, but if you have the money for it, a Maserati is already waiting for you.

We know the Quattroporte GTS that was announced at Detroit is arriving next month. The GranTurismo GTS is also ready to be launched and it will be wearing the engine of the Quattroporte GTS. But the most important upcoming Maserati might be a new Spyder supercar. The new Spyder convertible is rumored to be based on the GranTurismo but we’re going to have more specific details later this year.

Mitsubishi has recently announced that they are getting ready to debut a hatchback version of their Lancer, probably to compete with Subaru’s Outback, in the US.

Having been on sale for some time now internationally, the US Lancer Sportback will come in two different versions.

First up is the car you will see mom’s taking their kids to soccer practice in, the Sportback GTS. Featuring a 2.4-liter 168hp 4-cylinder engine complete with either 5-speed manual, or automatic transmission.

Second up is for the established business man who wants some power but wants to keep it low key. The Sportback Ralliart features a 2.0-liter 237hp turbo charged 4-cylinder engine, AWD standard, and a six-speed, twin-clutch transmission. 

There’s no word on pricing yet, but chances are they will be priced around their sedan counterparts, around $20,000 for the GTS, and around $25,000 for the Ralliart.

Mitsubishi is launching a new model soon, the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS. Sporty looking and equipped with a manual transmission that can go as far as 30 miles per gallon, the new design comes with a vented hood that allows proper ventilation of hot air from the hood.

The hood is light as well thus optimizing the weight distribution of the car. It comes equipped as well with an all-wheel control (AWC) and active center differential (ACF) to maintain balance and proper grip on the road. The ACD mode switch sets dynamics for “gravel” or “snow,” optimizing torque transfer for the available traction.

The retail price of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS was said to be $18,000 and if you should choose to add the Sirius radio w/60-month service, another $1500 will be added to the base price.

The Farbio GTS 400 is a supercar which any of us would love to park from time to time in our driveways. Not to mention all the other things we’d do with it. The new V6 engine will get you 410 hp which is 26 hp more than the last one. Made out of carbon fiber this GTS will get you going.

Unfortunately besides being fast it also happens to be rather expensive. Priced at £94,000 or 110,000 Euro the Farbio GTS 400 will not let you down, but it will charge you for every minute of fun. The 180 mph, 0-60 in under 4 seconds kind of fun. And all that for 24 mpg. Well you can’t have everything, can you?
