Porsche Panamera Gran Turismo Debuts in North America

For the many North Americans who have been eagerly awaiting their chance to catch a glimpse at the latest Porsche model, you can get your chance to do so this coming August 9 to 16 during Monterey Peninsula’s Classic Car Week. The all-new Porsche Panamera Gran Turismo is the first-ever four-door sports car. Porsche’s unique four-seater was conceived and designed as a grand touring car, combining numerous talents in typical Porsche style: sporting driving dynamics, a spacious interior, and the supreme comfort of a gran turismo.

“The exclusive automotive events that take place on the Monterey Peninsula this August are the perfect stage to roll out this extraordinary car,” said Detlev von Platen, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “Our Panamera will feel right at home among both vintage and modern classics and will make quite a splash among the tens of thousands of true automobile enthusiasts there.”

The Porsche Panamera Gran Turismo will start selling by October 17, 2009.

2010 Porsche Panamera Selects Mobil 1

Much has been said about the 2010 Porsche Panamera. Apparently, the people behind it are taking no choices as they have selected Mobil 1 as the factory and service-fill endorsed motor oil for all their models. Scheduled to be introduced in Fall 2009, the new, four-door Panamera represents Porsche’s first-ever luxury Gran Turismo.

The Panamera will be available as the Porsche Panamera Turbo, which features a 4.8-liter turbocharged Porsche engine with advanced direct fuel injection (DFI) technology, and delivers more than 500 horsepower.

In addition, all models of the Panamera will be among the first Porsche vehicles to be equipped with automatic engine start/stop functionality, which helps enhance fuel economy by allowing the engine to shut down and minimize idling during common daily driving conditions, such as, being stopped at an intersection or in traffic.

The 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo will be available first in Europe starting in September, with roll out to other markets, such as the United States, to begin in October. Beyond the Panamera Turbo, the other models in the Panamera family include the Panamera 4S and Panamera S.

Spy shots of new BMW 5-Series hatchback

Auto Express has recently gotten their hands on some all new shots of the unreleased BMW 5-series hatchback also known as the Gran Turismo.

It looks pretty much exactly what you would expect it to look like, a 5-series hatchback. However, what sets it apart from the regular 5-Series, is the fact that not only does the trunk have more room and flexibility, but there is more leg room for passengers which will come as a relief to the taller folk out there.

The Gran Turismo is set to launch in October for around £40,000 or $57,000.

BMW 5 Series Concept to Arrive in Geneva?

Is BMW going to release a new car soon? That’s what people are saying these days. The new concept car is referred to as the Concept 5 Series Gran Turismo and it will be shown around in Geneva soon. The new series is a Progressive Activity Sedan. It will have four doors and an open cargo area. The car isn’t a station wagon. It has a higher riding position and a fastback slope to the roofline. You can enjoy the photos for now and fantasize about future times when there won’t be any financial crisis and you’ll be able to afford a 5 Series Gran Turismo BMW.
