Lamborghini working on hybrid vehicle?

Lamborghini has long been known as been an automaker that focuses almost entirely on speed. Sure, there cars look nice but they aren’t exactly the most fuel efficient vehicles on the road.

That may all change very soon as recent rumors suggest that Lamborghini is working on a hybrid vehicle for 2015. Our sources tell us that the car itself could possibly be based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and have fuel saving technology coupled with a V10 or V12 engine.

Then again, with that big of an engine, it’s going to be hard for Lamborghini to get respectable numbers but it’s the effort that counts, right?

Lamborghini to Become Eco-Friendly by 2015

The call for cars to start applying some eco-friendly decency is on and Lamborghini happens to be one of them. For their part, the target is to cut their carbon emissions by 35% by 2015, a move that will surely be welcomed with open arms in the car industry.

Add to that they will be making their models lighter, adding another factor in efficient motoring as they take some load off the fuel consumption of their popular luxury cars. To top it all off, their manufacturing plants will be cutting emissions as well, turning to solar panels for better heating and lighting systems needed today.

The firm has already launched an updated Gallardo LP 560-4 with an 18% reduction in CO2 emissions by using direct injection to the engine.

Lamborghini Gallardo Shoes

If your shoes have the same name of the cars you drive you might want to take a little break from driving. Or go into professional driving if you love it that much. The shoes in the picture here are Lamborghini Gallardo shoes designed by Modo illustrator Tim Cooper for Tonino Lamborghini.

The shoes’ design is based on the Gallardo Superleggera so we can’t help but wonder how fast do they go from 0 to 60 mph?

With an estimated MSRP of $221,000, the 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder probably isn’t the best choice for the everyday office commute, and the V-10 560 horsepower engine isn’t going to save you any money on gas, either. (Gas mileage, in case you care, is 12 mpg city/20 highway.) The Gallardo Spyder has a soft top (available in black, blue, gray, and beige) that disappears beneath the engine cover.

Ad Personam, a customization program offered only by Lamborghini, lets owners customize interior elements to the limits of good taste, and beyond, even though he interior (in leather or Alcantara) will not be visible to anyone except you and your passenger most of the time, especially when pushing the speedometer into the 201 MPH range. Basically, you will be a blur to all witnesses at that speed. The question is, do you really care? I didn’t think so.

Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Gets First Racetrack Test

We’re going to have to keep an eye on this Lamborghini. It might just be the car we’ll never be even close to buying. Nonetheless it looks great and it should be fast too. The Gallardo Super Trofeo has been officially taken out for a spin at the Vallelunga Race Track in Italy.

The car, said to be the fastest single-brand competition car will run in its first race on May 2 of next year at Silverstone. That 5.2L direct injection V10 engine will pop out 570 horsepower and it will be bundled with a six-sped gear box and all-wheel-drive. How does that sound for you. Too fast? We’ll know more in a little over 5 months from now!

The New Lamborghini Gallardo at the 2008 LA Auto Show

Another day at the LA Auto Show and a brand new car. A brand new coupe model release! I’m talking about the phenomenal Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4! Although it has been initially released in Geneva this year, this is its US launch.

It’s a coupe with a 5.2L V10 engine that will get you from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds. It has a lighter transmission than its predecessor and an increased shift time by 40%. It’s also a greener car, its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions having dropped by 18%.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said:

The LP 560-4 is the best example of the Gallardo to date and will be a great contribution to Lamborghini’s future success. The entirely new LP 560-4 Spyder adds another dimension to the Gallardo’s lineage with extreme design language and class-leading performance.
