Avoiding minor collisions today when backing up your car has been made easier with the integration of car sensors when the driver is getting pretty near. And now we have a new form of technology has been unveiled and this new rear mirror helps a lot in making sure that the driver sees if a potential collision may suffice.

A lot of GPS devices have come out recently. While most motorists look at them to get to places faster and economically, one thing that they tend to overlook is the eco-friendly ideals behind them. But with the Vexia Econav, targeting their latest product at the user who is conscious of their impact on the environment and saving money is certainly a GPS device worth considering.

The Vexia Econav range has the same aim as all other GPS gadgets – to get you to your desired destination. But the Econav aims to get your there as economically as possible. To that end it will calculate the best route to take based on the lowest amount of carbon you can produce getting there. You tell the device what type of car you have and what fuel it uses; then you specify how many passengers are traveling with you. You are then given the best route to take.

The Econav is expected to come to market across Europe in March. There will be two versions, the Econav 350 for $227 and the Econav 430 for $284. How crazy are you about you car? How crazy are you about your iPhone? If you love them both there’s a way now to combine them when using them together.

I am not exactly sure why you’d want to deplete your battery while running Rev in your car. With it the iPhone will be able to read info from the OBD-II port of your car and show it on your iPhone. You will get speed, RPM, fuel consumption, engine load and other similar statistics.

If you want to use it, you’ll have to check back with its creator, DevToaster. The developer is working on the OBD-II/WLAN interface needed for getting information from the phone to the iPhone. If not you can do what you did before the iPhone hit the market: rely on your car to get all that info!

The Mio Knight Rider GPS system isn’t a special navigation device but it wears a cool name. KITT is a well known figure in the world of cars. All cars want to meet it and they would be honored if their driver could get them KITT-a-like parts.

Radio Shack is the place to buy this Mio GPS exclusively. It costs about $279 but it has the original William Daniels voice. The rest is the same GPS technology you would expect to find. It’s the voice that makes it magnificent. Don’t tell my car the Mio Knight Rider GPS is out. It will crave for such a device and Christmas is not exactly around the corner!
