Best Cars to Have for the Recession Period

Friday, July 10th, 2009

With hard times here, one thing that motorists have to consider is the wise car to have. And while we all have certain budgets, the search to have ideal cars despite the times still plays around in our minds. Now the only question is what would that car be?

Saga Car insurance shares with us the right car to have at the moment. Now some of them may not necessarily be the ideal one for us, but then again, you just have to be wiser at least for the moment. Besides, if things pick up, you can always give them to your teenagers as their personal cars when you send them off in the motoring world.

Here are the top cars for the recession to consider:

  1. Ford Ka
  2. Fiat 500 1.2
  3. Citroen C1
  4. Suzuki Swift
  5. Mini 1.6D Cooper hatchback

As you will notice, these babies are compact and economical as far as fuel consumption is concerned. Isn’t that the trend we are seeing today?

Ford KA Zetec 1.2 Review

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

This early, the Ford KA is a car that needs a lot to be improved. It is a car obviously rushed and sorely lacking in conceptualization. This car seems to be doomed as far as Ford’s entry into the small to compact cars category.

The seats are so hard that drivers may not approve of them. Steering wheel reach may be too far, a problem for shorter people who may end up trying this car out. The only steering wheel adjustment you can do with it is via vertical adjustment.

It seems that the interior concept was made to provide a roomy driving environment. However, it looks like adjustments were not even considered in the mix.

And for on-road safety, the headlights may have to be thought of. They simple provide poor illumination that can result into accidents especially during the night.

Obviously, Ford would have wanted to develop its own small car. Asking its engineers to reclothe a Fiat rather than asking them to design their own baby from the ground up is like asking Stella McCartney to sew some new buttons on an Ozwald Boateng suit. No one becomes an engineer in a car company so they can spend their life sanding the word “Fiat” off components and writing “Ford” on them instead.

Ford Ka, Shaken Not Stirred!

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

It’s not Vodka but Ford Ka we’re talking about here! But yes, as you might have guessed it, we’re also talking about James Bond too. Quantom of Solace will arrive soon. And as always there are plenty of cars and attached gadgets to dream about.

To everyone’s surprise, one of the first cars to appear in the movie will be the Ford Ka which will be driven by the new Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko. Is Ford trying to tell us that small Kars are the future? They might aswell have thrown in a hybrid. That would be a fun thing to watch! Two hybrids chasing each other in the future James Bond movies!
