SoundRacer Adds The Appearance of Horsepower

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Just forty bucks, folks!  For forty bucks you can get a SoundRacer gadget of your very own.

What does a SoundRacer do, you ask?  Well, the SoundRacer is a simple FM transmitter that you can plug into your car.  It works with your RPMs, and determines how fast your engine is revving at any given time.  So when you’re, say, parked at a red light and you want to get the motor cranking, you just rev the car like normal, and the SoundRacer generates noise that suggests a whole lot more horses than you actually have.

It’s pretty harmless, and a simple enough gadget, though it won’t improve actual engine performance one iota, it’ll make you feel a lot better about the performance that you’re actually getting.  Kind of stupid, I know, but the testosterone and adrenaline rush you’ll get from thinking you have a monster machine is not to be trifled with.

Can’t Afford an iPod? Try a Wireless Car Model

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Admittedly, since I found this on a site called “China Grabber“, this is probably going to be the lowest kind of knockoff goods, but I’m just here to tell you about stuff.

It’s the Wireless Car MP3 Player with FM transmitter, and it’s actually not a terrible idea.

For some of us with older cars that have cassette players, we all know that sometimes you can’t use those cassette adapters to hook in your MP3 or CD or whatever player.  But this bypasses that idea completely by sending your MP3 signal to an empty FM channel on your radio.  It’ll even tell you which by way of a handy dot matrix window on the front.

Sure, it’s not exactly the highest achievement in technology, but hey–for twenty three bucks, if you’re looking for an alternative to radio you may just have it right here.

RoadTrip with SmartScan FM Transmitter

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Cars on the move are susceptible to frequency breaks, particularly if you are driving your car out of a coverage area. Antennas are normally reliable but today, you have to invest in more than that to get good signals. Such is the SmartScan FM Transmitter. It does the DC outlet charging, it offers good sound quality, and a little something extra that makes it a true in-car entertainment hub.

Additionally, the RoadTrip with SmartScan will work with just about any iPod that uses the now-standard dock connector. A variety of cradle adapters are included in the package, accepting everything from the iPhone and iTouch to the iPod nano and iPod classic.

With a flexible steel neck, auxiliary output jack, SmartSound Plus technology, and clever design, the Griffin RoadTrip with SmartScan is probably one of the best iPod FM transmitters you can consider getting for your car.
