With such a powerful engine from one of the highly anticipated cars set to be released, there is no question why Mobi 1 was selected. The 2010 Chevy Camaro is set to be released by 2010 in North America. A convertible version will also be available by 2011. The vehicle is currently available in Middle East.

The car to watch will be the Maya-300, a car that is powered exclusively by lithium-ion battery technology. These new electric vehicles will make up one of the first fleets of all-electric vehicles in a consumer car-sharing and rental program in North America.

“This program is a perfect example of the important role innovative companies and organizations, such as ExxonMobil, Electrovaya and the Maryland Science Center, will play in addressing the world’s need for safe, low emission, fuel-efficient vehicles,” said Sankar Das Gupta, president and chairman, Electrovaya.

With the growing turn towards electric vehicles, it is apparent that the efforts of these two companies and the launch of the Maya-300 will no doubt be welcomed with open arms. As we all try to curb down our carbon emissions and find solutions to fuel problems, a new electric car is certainly something we will all be needing.

With the demand for lithium-ion batteries expected to increase, ExxonMobil takes the initiative in making sure that they distribute quality and efficient batteries once that happens. ExxonMobil Chemical continues to extend its technology leadership with the development of two new grades of V series co-extruded battery separator films. These new developmental grades will help make lithium-ion batteries (LIB) safer than ever before for hybrid and electric vehicles, power tools and electronic devices including laptop computers.

Featuring improved thermal stability and lower shutdown temperature for a higher safety margin, the developmental grades add to the company’s battery separator film portfolio that includes the award-winning V-series separator films introduced in 2007. Based on the same advanced co-extrusion technology platform and proprietary wet bi-orientation manufacturing process as V-series separator films, the developmental grades can help prevent thermal runaway in batteries while providing LIB designers more flexibility in selecting electrode systems and formats in battery designs to improve power and capacity density.

ExxonMobil Chemical currently manufactures battery separator films in Nasu, Japan, and is building a manufacturing facility in Gumi, Korea, to accommodate additional demand and serve global customers reliably and efficiently. The new manufacturing plant will be completed in 2010.

The agreement transfers to Couche-Tard the franchise agreements for approximately 450 On the Run convenience stores currently operated by ExxonMobil branded fuel dealers and distributors. These stores, located in 28 states primarily east of the Mississippi River, would continue to be operated by the franchisee dealers and distributors of ExxonMobil.

The purchase price is confidential between the parties. Couche-Tard will fund the acquisition from internal available cash dollars.

Titled “Speed Dreams,” the 24-minute program will premiere March 16 at 10 p.m. EDT/PDT on The Documentary Channel. The documentary also features Bill Maxwell, Distinguished Engineering Advisor, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, a prominent member of the team that invented Mobil 1 more than 35 years ago. Maxwell discusses the origins of synthetic motor oil and traces its roots back to the U.S. military’s need for lubricants that would not freeze in the extreme temperatures experienced by its naval aircraft during World War II. Maxwell also discusses his lifelong love affair with Corvettes, and how it inspired him to become an engineer and eventually play a key role in the development of Mobil 1. One of Maxwell’s own dreams even comes true on-camera as he is given the honor of turning the ignition on a just-completed Corvette at the factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
