Ah yes, nothing like trying to associate your car’s brand with lawlessness and anarchic glee. And that’s just what Dodge is out for with its newest line of commercials for the Dodge Charger.
From a marketing standpoint, this is actually a pretty sweet idea, as it upends the classic trope of the guy who gets all his stuff thrown out on the lawn by an outraged girlfriend who then speeds off in a high performancemuscle car whilst wearing a leather jacket.
And I suppose turnabout is fair play and all–didn’t exactly enjoy having my gender portrayed as whiny passive-aggressive sissy marys who throw their girlfriend’s crap out a window as a way of breaking up with her, though.

We may be in recession but car lovers are still looking for sports cars. According to carmax.com, car shoppers searching online for sports cars increased six percent in April from the previous month. Online sports car searches are up eight percent over January’s figures.
The No. 1 searched car on carmax.com for April was the popular Ford Mustang sports car. This was the first month it landed the top spot in searches in the last several years.
Three other sports cars ranking in the top 20 online searches for April were:
13th position – Infiniti G35
14th position – Dodge Charger
17th position – Chevrolet Corvette

Besides being known as the official passenger car of NASCAR, you are bound to get a plentiful ride on the 2009 Dodge Charger SXT AWD. Like most muscle cars, the Charger carries a gas-guzzler tax.
The Dodge Charger SXT AWD features a 3.5 liter high-output 24-valve V6 MPI engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. It also features 18-inch aluminum wheels, brake assist, anti-lock 4-wheel disc performance brakes, all-speed traction control, touring suspension, power rack and pinion steering, speed control, and AutoStick Electronic Range Selection Auto Transmission.
The base price for the test model is $29,490, but with added options, including the $225 for the TorRed exterior paint job, the total price is $34,220.
