GM’s CEO Fritz Henderson has today done to honors of letting us know that there is in fact a convertible Camaro in the works and that it will hit the market in Q1 of 2011.
There were virtually no details as Henderson was quite mum when asked about the convertible Camaro but as Q1 2011 draws closer we are sure to hear a lot more of the vehicle.

Autoblog has just gotten news that Porsche is currently working on a convertible version of their Panamera model. As you can see above, this is essentially the same car expect for the fact that it has a drop top roof. Then again, it does have just 2 doors instead of 4, which was one of the Panamera’s selling points.
Unfortunately that is about the extent of news we have regarding this convertible Porsche Panamera but as soon as more information is made known we will certainly get back to you.

If recent reports are to be believed we may in fact be seeing a drop top convertible version of the Ferrari 458 Italia entitled the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider appear at some point in the near future.
WCF says that reports come to us out of Italy where buzz is circulating that Ferrari will in fact begin producing the 458 Italia that surfaced after Ferrari’s Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was quoted to have said the Spider is coming withing the next couple of years.
Those who plan on purchasing the Ferrari 458 Italia Spider better start saving up now as it’s not going to be cheap. I mean, it is a Ferrari, after all.

Tesla has been kind enough to supply us with a picture of their forthcoming all electric Tesla Roadster Sport. As you can see, the car looks very similar to the regular Roadster except it has a bit of a meaner look.
Furthermore, the Sport will sprint from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds thanks to an updated electric motor and the car will be outfitted with a plethroa of carbon fiber accesories such as a hood and rear spoiler. On the inside, there will be a “push-buton transmission selector” which will oust the original shifter knob along with a touch screen center console.

Now, Chevrolet has yet to officially announce a convertible version of their popular Camaro, which means official shots are even farther away. However, there has been an much less official option but that’s never as good as the real thing.
Luckily, Jalopnik has gotten their hands on a shot of the drop-top Camaro driving around the streets of Australia. As you can see, the car looks exactly how you’d expect, a coupe Camaro with a convertible roof. Any questions?

2009 marks the Mazda Miata’s 20th Anniversary and, to celebrate, Mazda has announced that they will be releasing a special 20th Anniversary edition of it in Japan.
Entitled in Japan as the 20th Anniversary Special Edition Roadster, this car will start at around $30,000 (or ¥2,860,000). Spec wise the car will be based on the Roadster RS and feature a retractable soft-top, and a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Additionally, the car will be outfitted with a bunch of 20th Anniversary badges, 17-inch wheels and Recaro bucket seats.

It seems that an artist by the name of Jon Sibal has grown tired of waiting for Ferrari to release anything regarding the Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder and has decided to take matters into his owns hands.
What you see above is his creation, a render of a Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder. As you’ll see, it’s nothing more than yesterday’s image of the Ferrari 458 Italia with a drop top.
There’s really no telling if Ferrari has plans to make the Italia Spyder look similar to this but if they do, they may have a winner on their hands.

Yesterday we showed you the Transformers Special Edition Chevy Camaro that was modeled after the Autobot Bumblebee. One thing Bumblebee lacks, however, is the ability to drop the top and enjoy the summer sun. In fact, GM doesn’t even have a convertible offering.
Enter Newport Convertible Engineering who tout the ability to transform your 2010 Chevy Camaro into a convertible.
Sure, it’s probably not cheap, but did you expect it to be?

Nissan has recently taken the time to announce a convertible version of the 370Z, the 370Z Roadster — As you can see above this car will feature a nice drop top that any buyer is sure to enjoy in the nice weather.
The car will reportedly run you $37,690 for the base model with 6-speed manual transmission. If you’re going to opt for the 7-speed automatic you will be paying $38.990. Additionally there are various luxuries available such as heated and cooled leater seats, Bose stero system, Bluetooth phone connectivity, Homelink and aluminum pedals.
Don’t think you’ll be getting all of those nice things for free, however, as you’re looking at $40,520 with the manual transmission and $42,540 with automatic. Hey, it costs to live life large.

Lexus IS-C Convertible
Ten years after the first Lexus IS became available, Lexus is offering an IS convertible, and it’s a hardtop, similar to the ones from BMW, Volvo, and Infiniti. The IS350C and IS250C, arrived in dealerships in late May, “give us an opportunity to compete in an area we’ve never competed in before,” says Mark Templin, group vice president & general manager of the Lexus division. “We get to unleash our darker side with the IS C.”

2010 Jaguar XK Convertible
For 2010, the Jaguar aluminum-bodied XK is outfitted with an AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0-liter engine capable of delivering 385 hp and 515 Nm of torque (the supercharged variation produces 510 hp and 625 Nm of torque). It can hit 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, although the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. Some subtle updates have been made such as a new front end, new rear lights with LED technology, a new rear body valance, chrome-detailed inserts, and slick alloy wheels.
Some of the elegant interior features include aluminium and wood details, heated and cooled front seats, three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. The leather is supple, the controls and switches throughout are crafted to the highest standards. Basically, you won’t be left wondering where your $80,000+ went.

Fiat 500C Convertible
The new Fiat 500C convertible stands out with its automated sliding soft-top with an integrated glass backlight and built-in center high mounted stop light. The lining for the roof is a weather resistant canvas that is available in three different colors, red, ivory, and black, and has been fashioned to match the car’s exterior colors, which now has two new entries – Warm Grey and Pearl Red.
Now that Fiat has formed an alliance deal with Chrysler, there is a good likelihood this model may come to the U.S. The 500 hardtop is all but confirmed for a U.S. launch, but don’t expect to see the cars in local showrooms for another year at least.

Range Rover Convertible
There have been many topless conversions attempted that leave a lot to be desired when referring to styling, but this creation may very well take the cake. This awkward looking (with the roof either up or down) Range Rover Convertible was constructed by Newport Convertible Engineering (NEC) of Placentia, California.
NEC retained the Range Rover’s door frames however they also added a central roll bar. To work out the problem with the rear hatch, NEC configured a unique split tailgate. There is no accounting for some peoples taste!

Infinti first let out word word that they would be releasing a hard top convertible version of their G37 coupe back in March but a price was no where to be seen.
Luckily, the car maker has stepped forward and let us in on the pricing scheme they will use when the G37 convertible goes on sale June 19th.
For $43,850 buyers will be able to get their hands on the base model while $43,900 for the G37 Sport 6MT. If you dont’ know, the sport model adds a 6-speed manual transmission because lets face it, who likes going fast with an automatic car?
