But unlike those programs, this is something that will not give any discount nor does it have any money involved. Rather, it is all for a good cause, donating for charity.

Such is the intent of this foundation called the Songs of Love Foundation with their CARS (Children Are Receiving Songs) program. Dedicating the cause to help sick children, the foundation accepts donated cars, trucks, recreational vehicles and boats, which are then sold to generate proceeds for its mission of music.

There is no need for the donor to take the car anywhere as the foundation comes and picks up the vehicle at the donor’s location, free of charge. A receipt is given for tax deduction purposes which should be a consolation if you talk about getting something out of it.

But this year, it seems that many would be making some changes to their celebration plans. With fuel prices rising beyond reasonable levels, some people may be foregoing that tradition (at least while everything is in chaos in the fuel industry).

Compare to previous years, forecasts on the decline in numbers is expected. This is something expected ever since the fuel prices jacked up and became unreasonable. Add to that the fact that some have chosen to limit the use of their cars, if ever some would travel, it would be through a car pool or perhaps public means of transport.

If some people are willing to go through the uncomfortable situations of spending the occasion, at least they can get some consolation with special discounts to their destination. But first, they should ask themselves if the whole thing is worth the effort.
