Toyota USA has announced the official pricing for certain models expected to come out in 2010. The list of models under the Toyota brand included (together with pricing):

• 2010 Avalon Full-Size Sedan (XL-$27,945; Limited-$35,285)
• Yaris Subcompact (3 Door Model-$12,355; Four Door Sedan-$13, 915)
• FJ Cruiser Off-Road Sport Utility Vehicle (2WD-$23,680; 4WD-$25,270)
• Highlander Mid-Size SUV (2WD-$25,705; 4WD-$41,020)
• RAV4 Compact SUV (2WD-$21,500; 4WD-$27,810)
• Tacoma Pickup Truck (Regular Cab-$15,170; V6 4×4-$27,075)

The new 2010 Toyota models are expected to arrive in dealerships by August except for the Highlander which is scheduled to be out by September.

Hyundai doesn’t miss a detail in their lengthy announcement of the new ix-onic concept compact SUV that the company is building on. With a body that comes in at 173 inches long, 73 inches wide and 65 inches tall, the ix-onic isn’t bigger than the C-segment hatchbacks like the VW Golf.

Hyundai says the ix-onic has “an imposing stance and road presence.” What’s might be more impressive to the green-minded is that the ix-onic features stop-start and has the first installation of Hyundai’s new 1.6-litre GDi turbo four-cylinder petrol engine that emits 149 g/km of CO2.

Motorweek awarded the 2009 Subaru Forester the MotorWeek Driver’s Choice Award for Best Small Utility, besting other vehicles based on performance, technology, practicality and dollar value.

Other awards received by the 2009 Subaru Forester include: Motor Trend’s 2009 Sport/Utility of the Year; Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) “Top Safety Pick” – Small SUV; and the Polk Automotive Loyalty Award for consumer loyalty in the Compact SUV category.
