A new Cadillac commercial has hit the web today giving us the first ever look a production CTS Coupe. Also featured in the commercial are other Cadillac vehicles such as the Cadillac SRX, CTS and CTS Sport Wagon.

The ad is apparently called ‘Re-ignition’ and is part of a campaign to notify the US of Cadillac’s new beginnings.

In case you happen to be in Boston, around the Prudential Plaza you might have noticed something bizarre. Toyota has planted five 18-foot tall solar flowers. This is part of a commercial campaign for the 2010 Prius.

The stations offer you free WiFi connectivity and they also act as charging stations for your electric gadgets. The electricity comes partially from solar panels attached to the petals and stem.

The flowers will be moving to New York, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. What do you say folks? Has this campaign impressed you already? Ready to get a Prius?

It seems that the U.S. Postal Service aren’t the only ones hopping on the green delivery boat as it was recently made known that the University of Alberta has purchased 4 hybrid delivery trucks like the one above.

The hybrid vehicles are based on the Ford E450 and created by Azure Dynamics. Each truck features an electric motor mounted on the drive shaft, electric only drive for low speed, and regenerative braking capabilities. Of course, it will still have the less environment friendly 5.4 liter V8 found in normal Ford E450s.

Toyota has recently announced that they will begin marketing a redesigned second generation Prius in Japan on June 8th.

Primarily for commercial use, the Prius EX will be priced around $19,700 and hold appeal to customers who aren’t quite ready to make the third generation jump. Or to those companies looking to make the green leap without breaking the bank.

Don’t expect the EX model to be too fancy as Toyota says they will only release white, black, and silver versions all with grey interior. A nice little addition to their already market dominating hybrid lineup, Toyota hopes to sell 2,000 of these a month.

The Commercial Vehicle Group was awarded a new contract by Volvo Trucks North America to provide multiple CVG interior products such as headliners, back walls, sidewalls, bunks, tables, ladders and door panels for use on Volvo and Mack branded trucks. The products will be manufactured at CVG’s Dublin, Virginia and Statesville, North Carolina facilities.

The materials will be delivered to Volvo’s New River Valley Assembly Plant (Dublin, Virginia) and to Mack’s Macungie Assembly Plant (Macungie, Pennsylvania). CVG will also send aftermarket and replacement inventory to Volvo & Mack Service Outlets nation-wide. A phased-in start up for the new business is scheduled to begin on March 31, 2009 and expected to be in full production by the end of the June 2009.

Based on current North American Class 8 Truck build rates, CVG anticipates this contract will provide an annualized revenue increase of approximately $8.0 million.

I sure love this commercial. It’s simple, it’s funny and it tells me this Honda hybrid might just be capable of everything despite being a hybrid. The new hybrid is the Insight. And just get a handful of Insigths, arrange them properly and turn them into an extra large LED screen. The future commercial is called “Let It Shine” for the obvious reasons. What do you think? Good advertising campaigns will make people remember your brand and your particular models. Is this what the guys behind Renault Logan were thinking when they hired the add agency responsible for the slogan above?

Sure it’s a catchy title! You’re probably reading this lines because of that title. But is this what you want your car to be associated with? The Logan has been quite successful in some markets and it’s understandable why Renault wants to sell even more Logans. But from there to penisland.com is a long way to go.

I’ll admit the slogan is pretty funny, but here’s how it should read actually:

Isn’t it awful when things get crowded together?
Renault Logan, the roomiest car in its category.

So, would you buy a Logan?

Are you anxious to see the sequel of Transformers? Well it looks like General Motors isn’t that interested in making the most of this movie release with a bunch of Transformers-related commercials.

GM has lots of cars in the movie, the Chevy Beat and the Chevy Spark, the Camaro and the Corvette Stingray Concept but it won’t buy that many commercials to cover them. GM doesn’t have the money to sustain a similar campaign to the one it did in 2007 so you won’t see that many GM ads when Transformers 2 comes out. After all, the movie is already a huge GM commercial, isn’t it?

Hyundai showed everyone its new Genesis Coupe ads during the Super Bowl. And these new videos came with corresponding music. The song played is “FOL” from The Smashing Pumpkins and in case you liked it, you won’t be able to purchase it anywhere just yet. But Hyundai is going to give it to you for free as long as you register your name and e-mail with Hyunday. Sure you’re going to give Hyundai your personal details but you’ll get that music. Unless you find some other ingenious method of getting the music.

Honda isn’t a new name in the NHL world. Honda Center is after all the home of the mighty Anaheim Ducks. But starting now Honda and NHL have partner up for a three-year relationship. Honda will become the official vehicle of the National Hockey League. That should be really obvious in a short while since Honda is probably going to make sure you notice that. Honda vehicles, banners, TV ads will be always around a NHL game. So if your sport is hockey, you will be happy, or annoyed to see the game spammed with Honda commercials. That depends on whether you’re a Honda guy or not.

We’re getting closer and closer to the Paris Motor Show and it looks like Lamborghini won’t reveal the new car yet. We’ve seen already seen the first teaser a few days ago and now we’re getting a second one.

People say it’s a four-door ultrasedan. What we have so far is a picture of a wheel and a fender. I’d like some interior shots too! But with about two weeks to go until Paris, are we likely to get more pictures? Come on Lamborghini! Don’t leave us hanging like that!

First of all penguins really know how to swim, so they do feel quite secure. Sure they need to come out from time to time but basically they know how to swim. So unless the ice cap finally melts they will always have a little bit of ice to hang on too.

Mercedes-Benz is the company behind the commercial here. It’s not warning us about the danger of the green house effect. They aren’t hinting they play a certain part into developing that effect either. They are just saying “You can never feel too secure.” and the advertisement talks about a maintenance plan for Mercedes Vito in South Africa.

I wonder how much did they pay the penguin to go along with this.
