New Viper 350 Plus Vehicle Security System Released

For those car owners who want the best security system for their cars, Directed Electronics Inc. has announced the availability of the new Viper 350 Plus vehicle security systems are now available at authorized Viper retailers worldwide. Introduced at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Viper 350 Plus is an upgrade to the all-time best-selling Viper 350, featuring new-style 4-button remotes with dedicated arm and disarm buttons.

Other enhancements include the Control Center – a combined antenna, Valet switch and status LED in one unit – which means no more drilling holes in the dash. The Viper 350 Plus also now features a super-heterodyne XR+ receiver, for range of up to a quarter mile. With an MSRP of just $239, this is the most affordable Viper security system on the market. Available at the same low price are the new Python 460 Max and Clifford Matrix +1, also introduced at CES.

Car dashboard technology seems to be all the rage at the CES and one device that has gained some headway is the Chrysler 200C dashboard. For one, you can practically manage you home while you are mobile. In cases where you forget to turn off the lights or lock the doors, with the Chrysler 200C Dashboard, you can do this remotely.

And that is not all. By using a system similar to social networking websites, drivers can see the location of their buddies, share directions or music and even send instant messages.

Now how is that for having a great device to practically run all your needs eh?

Dashboard Devices to Bring ENV at CES 2009

I am not sure how entertained I need to be by various devices while I have my eyes on the road and the hands on the wheel. However modern cars will bring us modern technology. Dashboard Devices will arrive at CES 2009 with its ENV or Entertainment and Navigation for Vehicles system.

The ENV-XC has a processor, a graphics unit, WiFi, WWAN a 160GB hard drive, DVD player, satellite radio support, a 7 inch touchscreen and Windows XP. Like what you hear? The car computer can be bundled with a pair of headphones too. The double-DIN ENV-100 will offer true dual zone control, which means you can have different content and in the front. The alternative is the ENV-50 which is a single-DIN.

The double-DIN version will cost $2,700. That’s a lot for a computer comparable with a netbook which will distract you while you drive!
