For the many dealers of GM and Chrysler who have been cut off, each form of assistance will count. As far as trying to dispose of their current vehicle inventory is concerned, dealers from the endangered car giants get a reprieve as AutomotiveXS has waived fees for dealers who can now post their product at the marketplace for automotive parts and accessories.
To qualify, these dealers just need to register at www.automotivexs.com/register.php and enter promotion code “AXSDEALERS.”
GM recently announced that it won’t renew franchise agreements with about 1,100 dealerships when the contracts are up for renewal in late 2010, and Chrysler plans to drop nearly 800 dealerships. Dan De Vlieger, founder of AutomotiveXS.com, said that these disenfranchised dealers will no doubt have parts and accessories lingering on store shelves.
“I believe that there are people out there looking for the parts and accessories that are gathering dust on the dealers’ shelves,” he said. “I want to link some buyers with sellers and maybe we can help save some jobs at the same time.”

As far as new cars are concerned, it is not surprising that most motorists are turning towards hybrid technology to curb down carbon emissions and better fuel efficient vehicles. This seems to be the trend these days as we see most car manufacturers unveiling their own version of hybrids, potentially to lure a curious market on the ideal car to have today.
The new 2010 automobiles will soon change the future in transportation as conventional vehicles make the switch to hybrid cars. The new cars also qualify for government incentives to use as a 2009 hybrid car tax credit. Hybrid cars can achieve better fuel efficiency and are led by car manufacturers including Ford Motor Company, Toyota, Honda, and General Motors.
The big switch is indeed apparent. We have been seeing various advertisements and promotions for the new breed of hybrids. And this time, it is not just a marketing gimmick. These car giants are really gearing towards the market demand. With due consideration to the two factors, carbon emissions and fuel efficiency, the product is that of having a hybrid or electric car in your lineup, something that we can see in most vehicle showrooms for customers looking for a new vehicle to own.

A day after the said launch of the UK’s car scrappage scheme, Toyota and Honda have reportedly held back, stating that they need exact figures on just how much they will be contributing before they actually participate in the said scheme.
The need for clarification and certainty seems to be demanded by the two car manufacturing giants, opting to see in black and wait just how much would have to contribute to the scheme, which was designed to kickstart moribund sales and revive the flagging industry.
To refresh your memory, Motorists who trade in their old car and buy a new model from participating manufacturers will receive a £2,000 discount, half of it paid by the government and half by the car industry.
Unless this issue gets resolved, sudden constraints have come up. And knowing how many motorists own cars under these two car giants, you know that something may eventually hinder the success of this car scrappage scheme in the United Kingdom.

Let us change the focus for a bit. Leave the GM and Chrysler issues and focus on how the other auto market players are doing. While the two U.S. car giants are sitting in pins and needles, brunt of the load on what is to be expected has been left at the hand of other car manufacturers like Fiat.
And perhaps that is one reason why Fiat is now being pressured by its own employees as they brace themselves on the corporate direction, anticipating large job cuts in the light of having to take over European activities left behind by GM and Chrysler.
“It’s all very well to go shopping abroad, but Italian workers want to know what their future will look like,” said Marco Roselli, a Fiat employee from southern Melfi.
What do the Fiat employees have to bank on? Right now it seems that there is no definite answer, something that has driven them to demand for job security. While that is a given, Fiat may put delays on what answer they may provide. Besides, it doesn’t seem that they have one for now as they continue to see what the future of the motoring industry would look like after all of these issues have finally settled down.
