Now that’s a strange bit of car news to get over your morning cup of coffee, now isn’t it? But it’s true–seems that fully one car in four produced in the United States comes in the color silver.
Oh, but that’s not the end of it! Merely the beginning–as it turns out, fully thirty five percent of all cars in Europe, and thirty four percent of all cars in the Asia / Pacific area are silver.
So what’s driving the big rush to silver cars? Word is that the big deal is a combination of a variety of new metal flake and advanced coating technologies that just make silver so patently irresistable.
I’ve never really paid attention, myself–but it makes sense. Especially given the fact that my car is white, and that’s the next most popular color in America, with black rounding out the top three. The universal appeal is what really surprised me.
You don’t see North Americans, Europeans and Asian-Pacificers agreeing very often, but when it comes to car color, they’re in lockstep.
