2011 Audi 7 Rendering

One of the next models Audi plans to bring to out is the A7 four-door coupe. The car appears to be targeted at premium buyers, with both hard-top and cabriolet versions planned. Production is a go now that Audi has decided to put millions of euros into the plant in Neckarsulm in order to make the essential upgrades and changes to build the A7 there.

Production will start toward the end of next year with a likely launch for very late 2010 or early 2011. A wide range of powertrains will be offered in the A7 and its S7 and RS7 sport-focused variants. Expect to see everything from diesel-electric hybrids to 600hp V10s. A diesel-electric version is rumored, but the company may end up utilizing a gasoline engine instead. The more usual A7 variants will be powered by a pair of V6s.

1962 Ferrai 250GT Pininfarina Cabriolet Series II

1962 Ferrai 250GT Pininfarina Cabriolet Series II

Not all classic Ferraris are atrociously expensive, although it is a fairly good indication that the cars are certain to significantly increase in value once the recession subsides. At the Hamptons Auto Classic on June 13 in Bridgehampton , NY, some of the big wigs who’ve sold their fancy residences there are evidently selling off their classic car collections too.

One of the stars of the show is this 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Cabriolet Series II, estimated at just $525,000 – $575,000 while 250 GT spyders regularly bring seven figures. One of only 200 built, the car has had full restoration to very high show standards.

Maserati “Cabriolet” Likely to Become Available 2010

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Maserati’s latest car, likely called the Cabriolet, is scheduled to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010. This convertible edition of the GranTurismo will have two plus two seating and will most likely keep the wheel base and dimensions of the closed GranTurismo.

It will probably be powered by the Quattroporte GT S’s 433-hp 4.7-liter V-8 with the ZF six-speed automatic which is currently under development for the GranTurismo. The engine will be a 433-horsepower 4.7-liter V8 one and it will have a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox. This model was actually supposed to be on the road this year, but it has been delayed by an entire year.

A5 Cabriolet

A5 Cabriolet

Three engines charge the performance of the Cabriolet. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 211 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are available with this engine; front-drive versions use a continuously variable transmission, while quattro AWD versions get a six-speed automatic. Top speed is 130 mph. Audi’s 3.2-liter V-6 is also offered with 265 horsepower, AWD and the six-speed automatic. The top-range version is the S5 Cabriolet; it sports a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission. Its top speed hits 155 mph, and it offers a rear differential that splits power between the rear wheels when traction is needed. Audi’s Drive Select system allows drivers to change the feel of transmission shifts, power delivery, steering and suspension.

The A5 Cabriolet’s cabin likely will be as snug and inviting as that in the A5 Coupe. For the convertible edition, Audi fits a 50/50 split-folding rear seat for access to the small trunk. The front seats on base versions are amply comfortable, but reviewers find the S5’s seats exceptionally supportive and firm for all types of driving.

Besides that there are 12 speakers which means you will get a 10 amp, 500 watt system ready to be installed in your Audi A5/55 Cabriolet. 2010 Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet Announced for Christmas

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

I know I’d like this Cabrio neatly positioned under my Christmas tree. The 2010 Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet was just announced. Well Audi guys, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but in some parts of the world it’s snowing or worse! That top must go up and turn the heat on. The Geneva Motor Show in March is where we’ll see the A5 (white) and S5 Cabriolets (blue).

It’s a long wait to March so let’s feast on some specs. The A5 will arrive with a 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder while the A5 Coupe will have a 3.2L FSI V6 engine. The S5 coupe has a powerful 4.2L V8 under the soon while the Cabrio S5 will have a 3.0L TFSI V6 which you might remember from the S4.

We need more details and some prices but I guess we have plenty of time to figure those out. Oh and in March, there’s still snow in Geneva.
