So much has been said on what could possibly happen if GM follows the debacle that Chrysler is in. Will there be saviors? But while that is on the consumer’s mind, the internal personnel are concerned about their compensation should GM take the unfortunate plunge into financial problems soon.
To make it all clear, GM financial advisor T. Michael Dolan and his associates at Lifetime Planning developed a seminar entitled “What Happens If the Lights Go Out at GM?” The program is tailored for salaried GM-family employees and retirees.
A May 14 luncheon filled up so quickly that two additional free seminars have been scheduled: a breakfast meeting May 14 (9:00 a.m.), and a lunch meeting on Tuesday, May 19 (11:30 a.m.). All three meetings will be held at Andiamo’s of Warren; they are open to the public, but reservations are required and seating is limited. Phone (248) 952-1744.
The program will discuss how a GM reorganization might impact GM pensions, including the PBGC’s role, GMAC Demand Notes, healthcare coverage and Michigan real estate. “We will not speak for GM at this seminar, and we understand the business plans are shifting with the times. But there are many points we can make that will be helpful to our clients and the general public,” said Dolan.
