It seems that the guys over in the BMW marketing department have been hard at work thinking up new ideas and I for one think they have done a marvelous job. Featured above is BMW’s latest ad for the BMW S 100 RR superbike. The bike manages to pull a tablecloth off a table with a bunch of dishes and other things on top of it.

Make note that the S 1000 R features 193 hp and a 0-60 of around 2.9 seconds which made this trick possible.

Sure, it’s not a car but I want one regardless.

You’ll actually recognize some of the scenes, but the biggest difference between this new footage and what we’ve already seen is the inclusion of a voice over that sounds quite a bit  like Jonathan Frakes, otherwise known as Will Riker from the Star Trek: The Next Generation series.

You’ll also get a whole lot of information about the various features of the BMW X5, including information about its xenon headlights and such.  Check it out directly below, because it’s actually pretty informative.

The facelift is actually pretty nice, too.  The BMW X5 is shown looking very competent in snow-covered roads, which is one of the main and surprisingly few viable reasons to actually buy an SUV in the first place, let alone to shell out the massive piles of cash necessary to buy a BMW SUV.  But don’t be overly surprised when it suddenly turns into a snowboarding video about a minute and a half in.

The end result is that the BMW X5 comes off looking like a spectacular piece of machinery that you’d definitely want to own and drive if you lived in an area prone to snow.  Never mind, of course, that a BMW X5 costs as much as houses do in some places….

The power generated by the Typhoon Black Pearl is all thanks to a supercharger and new intake, exhaust, pistons and an engine control unit. These were all fitted in the BMW X5’s 4.8 liter V8 engine which now produces a crazy 625HP. Top it all off with 23” wheels and you get one hell of a monstrous vehicle to handle.

The ATS Sedans are expected to come out some time this year. Once that happens, you can be that the other variants will follow immediately. Are BMW and Mercedes bothered? Well as they say, bring it on and let’s see!

The image you see may look like a cocoon or something but it is really a BMW Hydrogen-powered race car. Crazy as it may look, this was a project of Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. The project was fully backed by BMW to highlight the connection between cars and climate change.

The project titled “Your Mobile Expectations” was part of BMW’s Art Car Series that invites artists to modify their luxury cars. It took 3 years to develop and a lot of hard work which included taking out the body of the BMW H2. 2,000 liters of water were sprayed over a skin of steel mesh and reflective metal which formed the base of the new ice-looking BMW.

The New BMW 5 Series Sedan offers an athletic yet executive looking vehicle armed with an array of safety features that is typical from their tradition of delivering posh vehicles. The BMW 5-Series Sedan will be available in one V8 and one inline-6 gasoline engine.

Highlights of the BMW 5 Series include a long wheelbase and hood, brake energy regeneration, a modern cockpit design, instrument panel in black technology, a 4th generation iDrive control and an Active Blind Spot Detection. As long as your car is sufficiently solid to repel the cold, and the heater works, and the seats are in one piece and fairly comfortable, you are at the top of the motoring world.  It doesn’t matter if you’re driving a BMW or a BD POS (broken down piece of, well, you follow.), because out there at this time of year, only being warm and arriving safely matters.

It really doesn’t matter how fast your car can go zero to sixty when it’s trying to do so on a massive field of slush, and the perfect evidence for that is this video right here.

It’s a BMW X6, one of the higher end cars in the automotive world, and as you can see from the sliding, drifting and fishtailing, it’s just another car, hobbled by the environment.

So enjoy winter, motorists.  Take your time and get where you’re going safely.  Maybe have some coffee or cocoa along for the ride, listen to the radio, and enjoy your trip. Because here, performance means nothing.

And this time I’ve got footage of a BMW E93 M3 for you, thanks to the Royal Muffler folks.

There are parts of this little bit of short footage that look almost like a horror movie, especially while a song that sounds unnervingly like the main theme from the Saw franchise plays in the background.  But regardless of the overall effect, they really do manage to make the BMW E93 M3 look even more awesome than it actually is, and that’s a huge shock.  I mean, come on!  It’s a BMW E93 M3!  How much more awesome can it look?

Just in case for some reason you happened to be on the fence as to the overall quality of the BMW E93 M3, this video should put all your doubts to rest.

It would seem, on the surface, like these are two closely matched vehicles, but by the time the race ends, one clear winner will be established.

Oh, and don’t leave after the race–stick around, because the rest of the video will show a parade of cars, including several BMWs.

The whole of the video is fairly interesting if a bit misleading–you’ll likely be as surprised as I was by the shortness of the race, and by the length of the filler material attached afterward, because that’s really all that car parade bit at the end was–filler.

But you can catch it right here, as the race is exciting enough on its own.

Rumors have surfaced that BMW is set to put an ActiveHybrid 5 concept on display at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Considering the ActiveHybrid X6 and X7 recently made their debut it would only make sense for BMW to slap the same hybrid power train in different models of cars.

But this isn’t all the rumors point to, they also say that BMW will be showing off several other “surprises” at the Geneva Motor Show. What exactly are these surprises? We’ll have to wait and see.
