On the heels of success at the Detroit and Chicago auto shows, the editors at AutoWeek released today their fifth virtual tour, this time visiting the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. Autoweek Magazine has its own initiative for Earth Day and this comes in the form of devoting its first issue on the subject of Green Automobiles. Today, AutoWeek remains the automotive authority, continuing this legacy with its special Earth Day issue on April 20, 2009.

The special issue includes coverage of Italdesign-Giugiaro’s Namir, as well as first drives of the Chevrolet Cruze, Honda FCX Clarity, and the All-New Toyota Prius.

To make sure that customers and guests are well-guided on the 2009 New York Auto show, Autoweek has announced a free virtual tour of the 2009 New York Auto Show, which is available for free download at autoweek.com/newyorktour.

AutoWeek tosses in a twist with this tour — the fourth in a continuing series — guided by AutoWeek editor and associate publisher Dutch Mandel, with commentary from Eric Bloom, frontman for the rock band Blue Oyster Cult, and AutoWeek’s adopted rock-and-roll auto critic.

The audio podcast can be saved to portable devices to accompany those attending the event. For those unable to attend, the virtual tour is an interactive way to experience the show remotely viewing AutoWeek’s online photo galleries.
