Well here we go again — Audi has recently launched the website, electricityuntamed.com that has a countdown to September 15th. Included in said website is a teaser video letting us know that on September 15th they will definitely be announcing some kind of all electric vehicle.

Unfortunately, all the website do is tease us, like mentioned above, so we’re going to have to wait until the Frankfurt Motor Show to hear again of this all electric vehicle. Although all of the statements included in the teaser video focus heavily on how powerful electricity is so, perhaps an all electric Audi R8? Hey, a guy’s gotta dream, right?

You can call it a promotional scheme but regardless, the joint venture that Audi and Xbox 360 have entered is certainly for their respective cues. The announcement came today as part of the Xbox 360 keynote presentation at the 2009 E3 Expo, the world’s largest trade show dedicated exclusively to the interactive entertainment industry.

“Forza Motorsport” has been at the pinnacle of racing video games since its arrival on the scene in 2005. When “Forza Motorsport 3″ hits the market in late October, it will set a new standard for the modern racing game. Featuring the Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro prominently on the cover as its “hero” car, the creators of “Forza Motorsport 3″ have worked closely with Audi engineers to model the R8 V10 to an intricate degree.

“What we love about the R8 is the car stands for much of what makes Forza Motorsport 3 the ultimate racing game – powerful but refined, sophisticated yet inviting, the perfect blend of design and performance,” said Dan Greenawalt, Game Director, Turn 10. “It’s that blend of design and performance that makes Audi the ideal partner for my team. It mirrors the way we approach the development of Forza.”

Xbox and Audi will work together on several additional upcoming cross-promotional opportunities and events, including the Audi Centennial Celebration in August and the “Forza Motorsport 3″ launch in late October.

With stakes high on owning the 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro, the 3rd annual Boca Raton Concours d’ Elegance auction was the real winner when the said vehicle was able to help raise $500,000.

The Florida gala to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County featured the opportunity to own the first 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro delivered to the U.S. The newest addition to the highly acclaimed Audi R8 lineup is equipped with a ten-cylinder engine that generates 525 horsepower and achieves a 0-62.14 mph time of 3.9 seconds.

The new R8 V10 also offers advanced technologies, such as a lightweight aluminum Audi Space Frame and quattro all-wheel drive, found in the eight-cylinder Audi R8 sports car that claimed several worldwide awards in 2008, including World Performance Car and World Design Car of the Year.

After bids for the Ferrari topped out at $350,000, interest in the Audi R8 V10 drove its final price to $500,000 – a record for any new-production Audi model. In 2007, an Audi R8 sold in a sealed-bid Bergdorf Goodman auction for $425,000.

Considered to be one of the finest cars equipped with finest sports car engineering, the 2009 Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro boasts of a 518 horsepower V10 engine, leading the way for Audi’s quest for vehicle perfection.

The Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro rockets from zero to 62.14 mph in 3.9 seconds. In the version with the sequentially shifting R tronic, it reaches 124.27 mph in another 8.1 seconds. Even then, its propulsive power hardly lessens: It’s sufficient to reach a top speed of 196.35 mph.

The 5.2-liter powerplant uses direct injection according to the FSI principle developed by Audi. A common-rail system injects the fuel into the combustion chambers with up to 120 bar of pressure.
