Nissan officially announces the official pricing for their new 2010 Nissan Rogue crossover SUV which is already available at Nissan dealers worldwide. The Nissan Rogue comes in 4 models wherein each vehicle is equipped with a standard 170-horsepower 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine.

Other worthy features of the new 2010 Nissan Rogue include that of Nissan’s advanced Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and six air bags. Here are the four models and their corresponding prices:

• Rogue S FWD ($20,340)
• Rogue SL FWD ($21,930)
• Rogue S AWD ($21,540)
• Rogue SL AWD ($23,130)

As a footnote, the Rogue S models have an optional 360 Value Package. The package includes 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, privacy glass, integrated rearview mirror rearview monitor, auto-dimming rearview mirror, rear spoiler and chrome grille.

For customers who avail of the 360 Value Package, the additional cost will amount to $1,040 which is a big price buster compared to buying them all individually.

Canadian motorists get a shot in the arm as Canada’s House of Parliament will be giving its motoring consumers and small businesses relief by overwhelmingly passing its Right to Repair Act, C-273, in a vote of 247 to 18.

“Although Canada’s consumers and businesses must still wait for the legislation to go through several more phases before it becomes law, the House of Parliament chose to help consumers overcome the high costs of new car dealership repairs by allowing them to have a choice of where, how and by whom to have their vehicles repaired,” stated Ray Pohlman, president, The Coalition for Auto Repair Equality (CARE).

The reasons for the Motor Vehicle Owners’ Right to Repair Act continue to remain and grow. Vehicles that are 1994 and newer are equipped with computers that control the repair and service information on most of the vehicles’ systems, including, but not limited to: air bags, brakes, ignition keys and systems, check engine light, tire pressure, oil changes, electronics and steering mechanisms

The only way for motorists to have these systems and their “entire” vehicle repaired and parts replaced is to return to the new car dealerships. This has created a safety hazard for those who need immediate repairs but may not be near the new car dealership or ANY new car dealerships, hurts low and fixed income motorists, hurts fuel efficiency, cleaner air and jobs.

Most cars these days, used and brand new, come with the usual airbags. But along that line comes the possibility of some cars that may be overlooking this feature, either on purpose or perhaps because potential car owners choose to pass on them to save on car purchase cost.

But if this report is any indication, car buyers may want to reconsider passing on airbags. Their lives may depend on it.

A new report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) finds that nearly one in five fatal accidents involve cars that have missing air bags. This problem endangers the lives of used car buyers, current owners and innocent passengers.

Industry experts estimate that as many as 1 out of 25 previously deployed air bags are not properly replaced. Carfax urges drivers that have had their car’s air bags replaced to make sure all air bags are functioning properly. In addition, anyone shopping for a used car should have an ASE-certified mechanic or body shop inspect the air bag system prior to purchase.

So if you know better, check out the airbag features of your next car. Your life may depend on it.
