Audi has recently announced that they will be issuing a recall for over 10,000 of their A3 and TT vehicles of the 2006-2010 model years.

The recall is over a potentially massive problem; a spring that keeps the fuel tank ventilation valve shut. If, under whatever conditions, this spring were to come loose gasoline could leak into the engine causing a massive fire or worse.

If you have one of these vehicles in question you most likely have nothing to worry about unless you get a call from VW of America but if you want to be on the safe side head over to your local dealership and have them check it out.

Audi has recently announced that to celebrate their 100th anniversary (eat that STI) they will be offering a variety of ‘100 Years of Audi’ packages for their vehicles purchased in Germany.

The first package, appropriately dubbed ‘Styling’, will add sports seats, a 3-spoke leather sports steering wheel, and an aluminum entry seal plate featuring the silhouette of Audi’s Type C racing car. You’ll get all of this for €2,400 to €6,750 depending on the vehicle its applied to.

Next up is the ‘Innovation’ package which will add LED daytime running lights, xenon headlights, head beam assist, aluminum wheels and some other fancy technology. This package will cost you €1,700 to €2,700 again, depending on the vehicle.

Both of these packages will be available for the A3, A3 Cabriolet, A4, A5 Coupe, A6, Q5, Q7 and TT.

Audi has recently announced that their plans to bring their diesel burning A3 to America have been set for early 2010. Audi is looking to tout the A3 as a hybrid fighter, hoping to take some business from Toyota and Honda who are major manufacturers of hybrid vehicles. Oh, and for you greenheads, the A3 is one of Audi’s cleanest burning vehicles.

The major selling point, however, is the A3’s 45mpg fuel economy, and coupled with its 140hp 236 pound torque producing engine, Audi may really be onto something.

Again, expect to see the above vehicle hit dealers sometime early next year.

The 2009 Audi A3 is a model which was announced in Europe earlier this year. The car will arrive in the U.S. later this month and it will be specifically tuned for this market.

The A3 won’t be similar to its European counterpart. Its fascia has some elements of the A4 including new LED daytime runnig lamps and redesigned rollers for the wheel wells. As for engine, the powertrain is still there and you can choose either a 2.0L turbocharged four or a 3.2L V6. All-wheel-drive is now available for the 2.0T model. Audi’s S-tronic dual-clutch transmission comes as a standard for all model with a six-speed gear box.

A 2009 Audi A3 with front-wheel-drive and six-speed manual model with a 2.0T engine will sell starting from $26,920 while the 3.2L Quattro version will cost you $36,975.
