Shelby Focuses on Super Snake GT500 and Terlingua Racing Team V6 Ford Mustang Production

After successfully finishing the 2009 Shelby GT500KR, Shelby Automobiles is reportedly turning its attention towards the Super Snake GT500 and Terlingua Racing Team V6 Ford Mustang. The switch to production of the post title packages for 2005 – 2009 Ford Mustangs and Shelby GT500s will allow Shelby Automobiles to deliver up to 50 cars per week beginning April 6, 2009.
“Finishing production of the 2009 Shelby GT500KR will allow us to move the Super Snake and Terlingua Racing Team programs into the fast lane,” said Amy Boylan, president of Shelby Automobiles. “Enthusiasts are contacting us daily to snag one of these limited edition packages that give their cars the performance that only Shelby can deliver.”
The Super Snake post-title package significantly enhances the Ford Shelby GT500’s handling, styling and power. Customers bring their 2005-2009 GT500 to the factory and choose from engine tuning options range including a warranted 605 HP V8 to over 725 HP (unwarranted). Only 1,000 total Super Snakes per model year will be built; each car receives a Shelby serial number and is documented in the official factory registry.
“We’ve added new assembly lines and trained the KR production team to build Super Snakes and Terlingua Racing Team cars,” added Gary Davis, vice president of production. “By bringing to bear all of our resources on these programs, we expect deliveries to dramatically accelerate.”
The Terlingua Racing Team package for the V6 Mustang includes serious performance enhancements and striking visual cues. The hot rod features significant improvements to the handling and braking capabilities. Two packages are available with power up to 350 horsepower that offer balanced performance at a great value.
