In recognition of National Youth Traffic Safety Month, all local radio listeners in Pennsylvania will be hearing safe driving tips from high school students. PennDOT is releasing the 11 winning entries from its “Drive Safe PA” radio public service announcement contest, which focus on such behaviors as impaired driving, aggressive driving and buckling up.
“Through this contest, students gave their voices to the serious issue of highway safety,” said PennDOT Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E. “With the summer driving season right around the corner, this is a perfect time to urge motorists to practice safe driving behaviors. We ask for the cooperation of radio stations and other media outlets to find the winner closest to you and help spread these important messages of safety.”
The winners, which were based on PennDOT’s local engineering districts, were announced in March and professionally recorded their public service announcement. All of the winning entries can be heard on PennDOT’s Web site at www.dot.state.pa.us.
