Today, it is no longer advisable to leave your spare car key at the usual visors or under the rug. With the advanced anti-theft security systems that your car normally comes with, it is doubly hard to get into your car and forget you ever lost the master car key somewhere.
So now, it may be best to keep a spare key in your bag or your wallet. You don’t have to include a keychain if you are wary about the bulk problems it may cause. The thing is, you have to be prepared for anything, especially if you are careless when it comes to your belongings.
Some choose to continue keeping spare keys in their car. But bear in mind that this practice makes your car all the more prone to carjackers. There are alarms but also consider that they can be easily turned off with a simple cut of a wire.
Avoid the problems of addressing lost car keys. One small metal molded key in your wallet would not hurt.
