Hamann Typhoon G-Class Mercedes
If you are finding that the standard AMG-prepped Mercedes Benz G55 SUV is not extreme enough, check out what the engineers at German tuning firm Hamann created. They have produced a new performance upgrade that boosts output to a supercar-like 600hp and 576lb-ft of torque. Known as the Typhoon, this modified G55 AMG SUV has been fitted with Hamann’s high performance HM600 power kit.
Some of the modifications include a new ECU and a revised transmission with a separate oil-cooler. For an SUV, the 0-62mph acceleration time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 162mph is impressive. Additional modifications include custom suspension, upgraded brakes, 24in light-alloy wheels, Yokohama tires, LED daytime running lights, and a roof-mounted spoiler. Inside, the details continue with the a Hamann steering wheel, illuminated stainless steel door sill plates, aluminum pedals and velour trim.
