I don’t know about you guys but in the past few months I’ve recieved at least 5 calls that state “this is the second time you have been notified about your expiring car warranty” second time, huh? Can you sound any more automated.
Anyways, the Federal Trade Commission has recently announced that they are issuing temporary restraining orders against Transcontinental Warranty and Voice tough, two companies behind such calls. The FTC has said that there have been almost 1 billion calls of the sort to date and hope that the restraining order, which will remain in effect until May 29th, will curb the rising number.
After the restraining order is up the FTC will look at options to effectively stop the calls from being made. Good because I was about to break my cellphone if I got one more of these calls.
