Ferrari is a name limited to a few and only the big names and the wealthy have so far been able to afford it through the years. This iconic 1957 Ferrari 250 Testarossa is expected to fall into the hands of someone really wealthy. So you can expect the bidding to get out of hand among the curious onlookers just to secure this classic vehicle.
This Scaglietti-designed Ferrari “Pontoon-fender” Testarossa was in production from 1957 to 1958 and only 22 examples were made. It also has the honor of being one of the most desirable and competitive racing Ferraris ever built. The roadster also has a significant ownership history. It was first delivered to racing driver and future coach builder Piero Drogo in Modena, Italy in December 1957.
The second most expensive car ever sold at auction is a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder, which went for £5.4 million. So, there are more than enough reasons for the Ferrari “Pontoon-fender” Testarossa to set the new world record.
