Chrysler Set to Introduce Electrics Jeeps

While many car companies are focusing on introducing a compact electric car, Chrysler is setting its focus on unleashing the electric Jeep. With a target of at least launching one electric vehicle by next year, Chrysler seems to be banking on its niche product of SUVs and Minivans to bring electric-powered vehicles to the map.
Chrysler revealed two new “production-intent” vehicles at Detroit’s North American International Auto Show: a plug-in hybrid version of the Jeep Patriot compact utility, and a pure electric vehicle, called the Circuit, based on the British sports car Europa.
This sound interesting enough to check out but the power requirements may be something worth looking into. While electric-power has been seen as a good alternative to fuel consumption, the amount of power that one jeep would need to retain its optimal performance leaves a lot to prove to the car market.
